If I recall correctly Job 1 production of the S550 also started a few weeks earlier than planned in 2014. Apparently they plan the start date with some extra margin, which they can cancel if there are no setbacks.

So far Ford have released info mid month, but why the focus on 14 Jan?
There is a thread in the order section where a guy posted a screenshot from the Canada Ford Fleet site that showed order banks on January 14th and Job 1 April 11. I wish we had someone to check again, but we will know soon either way.

Other thread here

So 6 year run instead of 8. I can't say I'm too surprised. Any mid cycle refresh probably won't be very significant.

I hope S750 still has a V8 option by the time it comes out.

Jim Farley has already said that if demand dictates it the V8 could live on in the S750. But how about we put this conversation on the back burner for the next five years. :giggle: :like:
I finally became aware of the Jim Farley statement shortly after posting that comment. 😄 I hereby change my reply to, "I hope so, too," which I think members will be more receptive to than, "I'd rather have the EV version." :)

Kind of.......I saved this link as I knew this would keep coming up in conversation. Neither Mr Ford nor Mr Farley mentioned S750, but did mention demand will dictate if the ICE Mustang will live on.

Farley and Ford Chair Bill Ford declined to say whether the seventh-generation Mustang is expected to be the last gas-powered version of the car.

“If people don’t want them anymore, it’ll go away, but I personally believe people are going to want this vehicle for quite some time,” Ford said, adding “that day will come with a tear in my eye.”

Of course, if demand is strong enough, S750 might keep the V8 alive, or it could just be that S650 soldiers on alongside an EV S750. That would be an interesting battle to see which form of propulsion gets the most sales!

That would be awesome, but he's out of his mind if he thinks Ford is raising the base price of the GT by $10k 😂 that would be a 25% increase!

I see the argument he's trying to make about it being the only new V8 option out, but if they were going to try to sell the GT as this exclusive option, they would have done more to make the Ecoboost an attractive alternative
