You can push start and auto start-stop buttons at the same time and the engine starts with AS/S turned off.
So if you have two working fingers next to another, no more annoyance :sunglasses:

I just push the button in my F150. Saves me $100.
But in the Mustang, that button is so far away from the start button... how will I ever reach it?

In view of the latest news from Ford and the EPA, I suspect a future software upgrade will allow anyone with ASS, to turn it off permanently.

Ford et.al. don't want to talk about it, but a few dealers are: To wit, replacement starters and/or flywheels on some models are all but non existent. Dealers are even resorting to local auto parts stores when necessary.

I believe we all reminded them about excess wear and tear, didn't we?

Been driving since the mid 1980's. We had to put starters in cars all the time back in the day because they were crappy POS starters.

AS/S has been prolific in the US for about the past dozen years or so. During this time, I can honestly say that I don't personally know anyone who has had to replace a starter that the dealer or shop blamed it on AS/S. In fact, I can't recall the last time I knew someone who had to have a starter replaced. Not one.

wasn't the epa pushing this manufacturers were putting it in was not forced by the epa. Much like alot of the other feature bloat found in cars. The epa need a solid leash or to be shut down like most governmental overreach.

The 4D Tech Auto Start/Stop Eliminator works absolutely perfect in my 2025 Mustang GT manual transmission car. I have never had to push the button once since I installed it.

That being said, it WAS a pain to install, primarily due to the cramped location for my big ham-hands underneath the windshield, and the fact that my hard-to-reach dashboard screws were NOT magnetic. But after about 45 minutes to an hour of cursing under my breath and fishing out dropped screws with a tiny pair of grabbers, it's a thing of beauty.

I say GET IT! But then again, I'm an old dog who can't (or won't) learn new tricks like that silly button. My personal car should work the way I want it to work, rather than try to force me to submit to ITS will. Woof!

Mine worked for the first few weeks and has not functioned since in the last two months. I've even tried to get it to work by toggling it off then back on, and it never works anymore.

Good riddance.

Does anyone know how the Mustang system deals with allowing mechanics to keep the engine running when the hood is open? Toyota did it with a clipped wire that attaches to the hood latch. When that's disconnected, the car permanently thinks that the hood is open, without leaving any dashboard lights, etc. to indicate that there's an issue (because the hood IS still latched). Is there something similar on the GT?

I didn't have to worry about this with my M3. I has auto S/S, but it defaulted to "off" in NA (Europe got it defaulted to active), but a tune removed the limiter and the auto S/S permanently.

I got lucky.
My 2024 was a Job 2 car but for some reason I slipped under the wire and did not get the SS button.
I am happy because wifey's 24 Atlas has it and IMHO it's dangerous.

Here's a post where I found the fix for certain Toyotas.

Auto Stop/Start - How I disabled it on HighLander 2022 | Toyota Nation Forum
On the 2019-2021 RAV4s that have auto S/S there is a simple trick that disables and deletes it---you disconnect the electric wire to the hood latch. The wire connects to a sensor on the hood release latch that sends a warning "hood open." Literally thousands of guys (including me) on RAV4 World forum have disconnected that wire without any problems and done away with the pesky auto S/S. Do Highlanders have that hood latch electric wire? Has anyone tried to disconnect it?

I was going to do it on my wife's Highlander because she complains about it, but she complained even more about me "messing with" her car. LOL.
