If gas mileage is your biggest issue with the GT, then you should have purchased an Eco-Boost! As a comparison... My 24 Eco-Boost in town averages 19.5 to 20 MPG. On the highway at ≈70 MPH, it hovers around 35 to 36 MPG depending on terrain. This is with the FPT.
