We build a major component for a large majority of Ford and Lincoln products, including both LHD and RHD Mustangs. I can have our MPL folks check releases to see what Ford is currently telling us what to expect to ship in the future weeks and months.
OEM doesn't always equate to a better product than an OEE part. It only equates to the SAME part. In some cases, OEE parts are actually better parts.
That said, I have always paid for/demanded OEM windshields. Our comprehensive insurance coverage includes $0 deductible for OEM glass.

Those are great stories, but I believe I've got them all beat ... :)
Back in 2016, I was on my way to the Cadillac dealer to pick up a brand new 2016 CTS-V. Everything was done, I had the two-party check for ~$80K-something in my hand, and I was driving towards the dealership to sign some...
I've both received OTA updates and applied many myself via FDRS/Mongoose (S650 and F150), and I can assure you that the AsBuilt data is not ALWAYS updated immediately before these events.
I'm almost 59 years old. I've owned elevendy hundred vehicles, including many hi-po sports cars. I've never purchased a forged wheel. I've also never had a single experience of breaking or shattering a wheel in a pothole. YMMV.
