You can push start and auto start-stop buttons at the same time and the engine starts with AS/S turned off.
So if you have two working fingers next to another, no more annoyance :sunglasses:

I just push the button in my F150. Saves me $100.
But in the Mustang, that button is so far away from the start button... how will I ever reach it?

In view of the latest news from Ford and the EPA, I suspect a future software upgrade will allow anyone with ASS, to turn it off permanently.

Ford et.al. don't want to talk about it, but a few dealers are: To wit, replacement starters and/or flywheels on some models are all but non existent. Dealers are even resorting to local auto parts stores when necessary.

I believe we all reminded them about excess wear and tear, didn't we?

Been driving since the mid 1980's. We had to put starters in cars all the time back in the day because they were crappy POS starters.

AS/S has been prolific in the US for about the past dozen years or so. During this time, I can honestly say that I don't personally know anyone who has had to replace a starter that the dealer or shop blamed it on AS/S. In fact, I can't recall the last time I knew someone who had to have a starter replaced. Not one.
