Thanks, can you tell me how far down does the bottom of the Bullitt knob come down to the top of the lock out collar?I’m sorry, I don’t remember.

I have noticed that many places that used to sell Ford licensed items no longer do. Perhaps some bean counter at Ford had a reevaluation of license agreements and started charging more......
Sadly; they no longer do anything Ford branded.
It looks like it's at least even with the collar. Mine's about a Thumb Nail above the collar. And that took about 10 rotations of the knob to get there.I’m not at home but this picture may help

Guys, I did a Bullitt knob and initially it was VERY high with a noticeable gap underneath. It looks like it's at least even with the collar. Mine's about a Thumb Nail above the collar. And that took about 10 rotations of the knob to get there.
Thanks MikeyV, can you describe the difference/gap between the bottom of the shift knob and the top of the reverse lock-out collar thing? I have about a thumbnails difference.Guys, I did a Bullitt knob and initially it was VERY high with a noticeable gap underneath.
I bought the correct size tap - in the "bottoming tap" style. A bottoming tap has less lead threads and does a better job of tapping the hole all the way to the bottom.
ONE run in and back out of the Bullitt knob made it able do another turn on the shaft and now it sits right where it should. Another full turn and the reverse lockout would not work, so one more turn from where it goes out of teh box.
And it still tightened up nicely without locktite or anything.
