I’m pretty sure they’re both quite underrated.

we will see when dyno tests start.
I have that feeling too. I’m hoping they’re minimizing rather than exaggerating the current numbers.

You can always remove a physical sound tube, or turn off the speaker fake sounds - its nothing.

Does the GT and DH have the same top speed. 155 MPH
I thought I read somewhere that the DH max was 168mph. Can’t remember where though.

Those are the same as the gen 3, And if the other things listed on here are true the valve size is also same but the cams have less lift than the gen 3.
It's interesting these newer engines will have lower peak torque than gen 3 as well. Wonder if they have harder efficiency limits to meet now. At least the steel oil pan is coming back lmao

those HP and torque numbers are pretty hard to read, here's a screenshot from Ford Frontline (also includes EcoBoost numbers)

C'mon guys, stop making me laugh with this 500bhp @ 5000rpm nonsense. It's probably 500bhp @ 7250rpm.

honestly, i'm skeptical too, how and why would Ford push back the peak power 2250rpm compared to the GT. in any case, every official Ford source says the same thing, 500hp at 5000rpm

Induction sound tube? Hope it is not on my DH.
Easy fix to remove if so. I'm just glad it's natural noises, NOT some fake crap being played on the speakers.

7,250 RPM? How often are people at 7,000+ RPM? That's always been my beef with the 5.0. The TOP end power is great, but from 1,000 RPM to 4,000 RPM where people normally drive it's nothing special. In fact, at those engine speeds I can't even tell it's different from the old 4.6 3V, or a 5.7L Hemi, or any other engine that's been on the market for decades.

This is also the reason that the A10 is the ONLY trans to go with. The MT82 HATES high RPM shifting and that makes the top end power of the 5.0 useless.

All great information.

I am just disappointed that Ford is limiting the top speed on the GT (155) and DH (168). As both of these could easily hit 175. Not sure why as they both have the proper rated tires.

My SS 1LE had no limiter and would hit 175. I guess once someone unlocks these ECU's that they can remove the limiter.

Does anyone actually have the digital copy of the specs? Or a link to download them?

This is actually nuts if true and that 500hp peak figure means WAYYYY more than we realize

That’s a huge increase in power RPM for RPM

This won’t feel like a 15hp increase over the Mach 1; it’ll feel like 30-50hp more
