My Conti's weren't.
And you're right, they can't be compared because the Kendas are better objectively in every category. In fact, all of the "off brand" tires I've had performed better than Contis, Mickey Thompsons, Goodyears, etc. It's to the point that I've stopped wasting money on "class...
I'm running the Kenda Vezda KR400s right now. LOVE them. Quiet, good traction, and the ride quality is so nice.
I never had any luck with the made in meh-hee-co Continental DWS06 tires. Couldn't get them to balance out and they're just over priced.
What blows me away is that the front diff, axle shafts, and t-case handle the abuse of 700+ HP launches. That's just wild. But they do. I have yet to see one break. And when guys launch them in 4-high you can kiss them goodbye. A Mustang is not going to keep up. Instant tail lights.
Heck...
Truth speech. Wife bought another new one last year and amazingly it's only had one recall so far. But that car is constantly pissed off about something. BEEP BEEP BEEP. Too close to the wall in the McDs drivethru, cat just walked behind the car, seat belt isn't on, oil change due in 6,000...
Everything BMW/MINI we've ever had has been junk. Terrible build quality and engineering. And dealers are fewer and farther between which makes all the repairs more of a hassle. I now avoid anything from Europe like the plague.
When I drive my 392 Hemi car and 5.0 Coyote car the main thing that jumps out is the torque difference in the low and mid range between the two. We all know the Coyote engine screams on the top end and that's why the Mustang got so much faster after 2011. But just in day to day driving, the...
I'm 23 years into my government career and it just occurred to me that I've never owned a new Mustang. Ever. I had a '94, '95, '01, '03, and '13 all purchased well used. With prices they way they are now, the ONLY chance I'll have to get a new one is if I am really good over these next few...
The problem with the M3, M4, M5, Mwhatever is that they are european garbage. I've never had a BMW anything in my driveway that was worth pissing on if it caught fire.
I agree 100% that Ford overpriced the Mustang. Pony cars and muscle cars were always small cars with big motors for low...
I guess nobody is poking fun at the Dodge Challenger now, eh?
I've always wondered why everybody gave the Challenger at 4,200 lbs. so much hell. The Mustang GT Premiums check in at 3,900, and they're MUCH smaller and less practical. I just don't understand the hate.
So these cars are FINALLY hitting dealers this week. Here's what we've learned so far:
- Can't do burnouts in them. Dodge CEO McAlear or whatever his name is says that they will update software to allow burnouts in the "Stage 2" variants later this year. Pathetic.
- They've gotten 82 orders...
I assume Ford uses an auxiliary battery for the ESS function like Dodge does? That's what annoys me; the added complexity to the 12V/charging system. You even have to disconnect the batteries in a certain way if you want to totally kill 12V power for safety before working on it.
Having said...
Pretty much nailed it.
The news that more Hellcat engines have been ordered effective 1-1-25 is awesome. Right now looks like Durango/Ram but hopefully it'll trickle down to the new Charger as well. Tim Kuniskis is going to try his hardest to save the company.
I have the Steeda "power pack" which is just the CAI and their tuning on my Gen 1 Coyote and I have to say it really did wake the car up. Noticeable power gains on 93 octane from the driver seat. Car is an animal now and spins tires through the first 3 shifts. Also, I hand logged all my fuel...
They keep teasing a 4-door Mustang. I think they should do it, but they should call it Thunderbird and it should have the 5.0 V8 and 10-speed trans with rear drive and optional AWD. That would sell like hotcakes. Dodge already proved that.
I wouldn't screw with it until you drive more miles. I've seen these Ford systems take 5 to 10 miles of driving to start reading.
Also, "pencil" style tire pressure gauges are notoriously bad. The guy who runs the Project Farm channel on YouTube did a test of all the commonly available gauges...
This is true. I live in a very safe area but my insurance went down when I traded my Challenger for my Mustang.
Something I've thought about: WHY are the Dodge cars stolen so much more often? Is it because they are just so much more popular? And if that's the case, WHY are they so much more...
