It’s official. The S650 GT will have a new coyote, the gen 4 coyote.

Not much info was revealed at the launch event, but here is what we know:
The GT will have 480+hp.
The Dark Horse will have about 500hp.

The Gen4 Coyote will have dual throttle bodies and a dual intake system.

It will have a revised 4 into 1 exhaust manifold.

The Gen4 Coyote uses a new and improved cooling system to better cool the motor.

It will also feature a new engine cover and a steel oil pan.

The Gen4 Coyote will have revised wiring, fuel, and brake line routing for a neater look according to Ford.

Dark Horse Info:
The Dark Horse will have upgraded connecting rods from the current predator engines and a different crankshaft (most likely just balanced differently for the different rods). It also appears the darkhorse will have a different block than the standard gen4 coyote. Parts website shows no difference for the camshafts but websites claim the darkhorse has upgraded cams.

Different Camshafts:
It now looks like both the coyote and darkhorse will have different camshafts. These new camshafts also have seals. (6/15/23)

Looks like the gen 4 coyote will build upon the previous gen 3 coyote. Uses spray in cylinder liners, port and direct injection, 12:1 CR, and same bore and stroke.

Specs (GT & DarkHorse GEN 4 Coyote):
Engine - 5.0L V8 DOHC
Block - Aluminum block, plasma spray in cylinder liner.
Displacement - 307 cu. in.
Bore x Stroke - 93mm x 92.7mm
Fuel Injection - Port & Direct Injection
Compression Ratio - 12:1

Hopefully the dual throttlebody intakes allow for more induction noise, which is missing from the coyote based motors (including the voodoo in my GT350R). Exciting news with the updates to this new GEN IV Coyote !

If the GT3 car gets a 5.4L engine, I'm hopeful the new GT350 (or whatever the next special model will be) will get a version of the 5.4L

Yes hopefully. I am wondering how they achieve the 5.4L though. If it’s through just bore that would be really nice, especially if it bolts to the coyote heads.

It may be a 5.2L block with a stroker kit. There are already stroker kits available for the 5.2 block that can make it 5.4-5.5L. Would still be cool coming from factory but I am hoping for a new block that works with current gen coyote heads.

If they achieved that only through increased bore, I would be very happy.

Still sad they didn't add any aluminum to the car, it still weighs 3900 lbs.

The 4th gen 5.0 is my favorite thing about the S650. I definitely think we're going to see a hi-po variant of this engine in a future Boss 302 model.
You could say the DH version is a Hi-Po model.
