I think we're talking the same thing.

I believe the salesperson gets base pay + commission and incentives.

Do surveys impact the salesperson's base pay? No. Do these impact their commission and any incentives? It's my belief they do. No survey received or anything other than a great score can wreck their overall average and put downward pressure on their additionals.

From my experience, there was a lot of interest in the survey about a week after I had the car.

I was aware of the topic, but had not received anything from Ford. I started getting e-mails from the GM's office, asking why I hadn't accomplished them yet, stressing the importance of getting them in and the salesperson's interest on getting it completed. We eventually confirmed it was a technical error on their part.

I went to the B&P tool online and put my specs in...exactly $1000 more! I need to contact my dealer to make sure I have price protection. Hasn't even been available to order for a month and already a price increase? That sucks!

Nope. The price increase is MSRP. Gas tax is a line item.

Just got a text back from my dealer. He states we should have price protection. So glad I ordered when I did. If you haven't put an order in yet I would get down there today and lock your price in.

Well I am glad I got the sub 60k price for 6spd PP/NP/AE/MR. Its like an instant coupon vs people that waited a month or later to order.

I was seeing a slow down of new cars on the road (dealer temp plates) but in the last month, ive seen a massive surge all over again. Not sure why the boom in my area but theres been one.

With respect to Price Protection, it's typically not something that's legally binding unless you signed an actual Purchase Agreement (which I suspect most here have not, since there's no vehicle to purchase *YET*).

It's merely a common courtesy on behalf of the dealer to hold the original price and eat up the loss, and it's the ethical thing to do IMO. But not every dealer is ethical.

I suggest folks read through the Naughty Dealer thread over on the Bronco6G forum to see what I mean...

This is certainly not the good news I was hoping for this morning. I’m going to take the positive position and wait to see how this shakes out.

But, if Ford and/or dealers don’t honor the earlier pricing for verified customer orders, I sure hope that $1k is worth pissing off some of the brand’s biggest enthusiasts. That’s a big FU to loyal customers who lined up day one to essentially buy your product sight unseen.

Unfortunately for us, Ford knows most will probably pay it and forget in a few years when we go to buy the next one.

here's the previous and current price lists, ("PL420" is from earlier in the month, "PL425" is from the 19th), you can see in there that the only real change (apart from some formatting) is the addition of the GT manual gas guzzler tax
