Autoline Daily are quoting Auto Forecast Solutions report that the next gen Mustang will start production in 2028 ('29MY) at Flatrock.

The video is a little vague and taken at face value you could assume "next gen" would be S650.........but I'm sure (at least I hope!!) Ford wouldn't expect S550 to live for another 8 model years!!! So, the video must be referring to the next-next gen (S750?) as this would align with what was reported in the original post in this thread, that S650 will run for 8 model years (well, 7, if this latest report is accurate).

This must be a mistake. It makes no sense.

If the current start date info is correct, S650 will run MY'23, '24, '25, '26, '27,'28, which is only 6 model years.

How in the world can they know the start date of the gen after the gen that hasn't even started yet?

Because manufacturers always work 5-10 years out, believe it or not.

I have no idea where they get their information from but I know our friend @martinjlm does similar forecasts, so the info must come from somewhere.

Don't forget, this thread started by stating S650 would run for 8 model years. This was based on a supplier leaking info about the length of the contract they had to supply components for S650. Could that have changed in the last 4 months and that 8 years is reduced to 6? Absolutely it could.

Now the guessing game will be whether or not the 8th gen really is an all new car and, if it is, what will it be based on? CD6 is the obvious answer, but that architecture will be almost a decade old by 2028!!

So how many posts do you think this thread will have by 2028?

but use elements of CD6
I doubt that very much. If it's going to have a AWD variant, and all likelihood it will, it will use many many many elements from the CD6, if not almost completely. JMO.

SN95 to S197 to S550...Why are we thinking S650 or S750 after? Ford could really use any alpha-numeric code they wanted that wasn't taken right?

Really, you're going to go there? Well there's another 15 pages added to this thread. :giggle: :cwl::crackup:
Didn't mean to go anywhere lol. Is this really discussed a bunch in other threads I have yet to see? I was just curious.
