Price increase already on 2024 Mustangs!

The Dark Horse auto did go up $300. When I placed my order the price was an even 76,000 now of the configurator it is 76,300. The Gas Guzzler Tax on the auto at the time was $1000 now it if $1300.

Build & price has GT premium at $47015. That didn’t take long

Your price protected, my 2022 mach 1 was price protected between the time I ordered it and took delivery went up 4000 while waiting in the same model year expect these to do the same better for residual, My ram trx while waiting went up 9000 and from 2022-2023 same build went up another 7000 the car is worth more on trade right now than I paid and part of that is all the price increases.

Your non-refundable deposit was based on the price you agreed to. If that price changes you get your deposit back.

I would imagine the question of deposits get tricky depending on the contract (if any) you signed, especially in a state like SC with relatively poor consumer protection laws.

Some of them will bake language into the contract that accounts for price adjustments, and then you would still lose your deposit any way.

I know this became a huge news story in Texas since COVID, where people were losing out on their deposits for new construction homes on contract when builders would increase the selling price due to the material/labor shortages.

Hey I’m seeing the $1,000 increase on Fords Builder Page..nothing about gas guzzler tax, which is a Federal Tax, and will have to be paid by the consumer, probably on all pre orders too. Really sucks.

Here are the configurator prices for a base DH. And the 4/19 price list clearly showing the lower MSRP without the destination fee and the gas tax as a separate line item. It is "NOT" included in the MSRP.

The gas tax is not included in the MSRP and does not show up on the configurator. You have the MSRP. Then you have the delivery fee. The gas tax is a line item shown under options.

If true, that kind of goes back to my post several weeks ago questioning why the tax was missing from the pricing guide for the GT (it was included for the DH) and if it was an error on Ford's part.

Since it's the buyer that pays the tax (in theory), we'd all be liable for the extra $1K regardless of when the order was placed.

they never do show it on the build and price, they just tack it on to the cost, advertise the pre-tax price, and leave the oh so wonderful surprise until the invoice is generated

It sure does. And, you are correct, it certainly seems that this is what happened. Guess we have to stay tuned to “Days of Our Configurator”.

Manual GT's have been considered Gas Guzzlers since 2022.

I was on the fence on whether to get A10 or M6. If I had known A10 is essentially only $595 more than M6 with the M6 gas guzzler tax I probably would’ve optioned the A10. Too late now. I already have build date & VIN. Sucks
