Oh yeah it was a huge pain, topside work with the cooler was simple and took less than an hour but all the bottom side work with the cooler lines took me 6 hours. Wouldn't do it again but I'm glad I finished it so that at least anyone else in the future who wants to do it can see what they're getting themselves into lol
Google does have the answer to that question. I want to say it is between 200 and 240 FWIW. Mine tracks pretty close to oil temp unless I'm pushing it then it doesn't ever get as hot as the oil.
Never seen my CHT that high. But I have definitely had my trans temp at 230 and my oil temp at like 265. Normal driving drops them pretty quickly. Synthetic oil provides good protection.
You personal guidlines? Based on what data? If you look at your track gauges Ford allows for higher tolerances. At least for oil and trans.
Honestly 240 oil temp is not even bad, usually for these engines you should start backing off once you reach 280 F (yellow zone on the track gauges). 225 for transmission is about right, operating range is about 206-215 I personally wouldn’t go above 220. Can’t say much for your CHTs, aluminum heads warp around 260 so do what you will with that. Overheating shouldn’t even be a big worry cause afaik the car will enter limp mode once it sees the temps are too high.
220 is really easy to hit. Not going above that sounds insane. Around 228 I back off.
Exactly. The track guages say 265⁰ is yellow and 280⁰ is red for oil temp. 240⁰ wouldnt worry me. I hit that doing some spirited driving on the back road twisties over the weekend. Trans guages say 260⁰ is yellow and 270⁰ is red. I stayed in the low 220⁰s during my spirited driving. I dont think Ive ever seen my cylinder head temp over 210. Who knows what the limit is on that, but I know the computer will activate limp mode if the car is close to overheating.
Honestly I can’t find any good info on where you should really back off trans temp wise, I know the trans fluid is made to be ran hot but still. I installed the trans cooler anyways, so I don’t really worry about my transmission temps too much.

Off the top of my head I’d say around 1000 bucks. Used all oem hardware and parts. Install was a pain but the cooler works very well and I haven’t had an issue. I did make a post about the install if you want more details about the install process and what parts I used, should be helpful.
