Everywhere huh?
Ford sold 163,709 Mach e’s through 2024
Ford sold 460,915 F150s just in 2024
We won’t count 2020 because Ford sold 3 for the entire model year. So if you average 2021-2024 all the Mach e’s produced are 35% of 1 year of F150 sales.
They are definitely NOT everywhere.
Lol. Are you really going to argue with me over that comment? An observation made in a town you don't even live in? And did in say I saw more Mach-e's than F150s? Cmon man. I feel like you're just here to argue, stir the pot, and be generally unpleasant. If so you're doing great.

But yes, I see a good amount of them in my my neck of the woods. That's not an endorsement of the car BTW.

Not trying to be argumentative but how are we armchair manufacturers mentally building reliable 550-600 HP N/A engines when Ford itself couldn’t even accomplish it at 526? And if, IF it could be done I’d guess the price point would put it smack into the 750+ HP FI range.

Face it folks: 500 HP is about the N/A limit for this platform or at least close by. They may add 10-15 marketing HP in order to pimp out a new model but it’ll be of no significance. Beyond that, think hybrid.
Not sure I agree. 100hp per litre is not that amazing these days. The Z06 does better, Ferrari's 456 better still. Bikes were doing 180 - 200hp per litre 10 years ago. Sure, they spun to 14k rpm to do it.
I'm sure Ford could make the coyote hold together at 8k rpm or more. More N/A revs = more power.

Pointless. The heir to the GT500 is going to need GT500 horsepower. That is going to take forced induction. Getting 500HP out of the 5.0 is probably the limit we are going to get from Ford.

Ok, that's a different kettle of marine creatures. Personally, when it gets up to 500 or more horsies, I prefer N/A style of response. It may not be fastest, but it feels better.

Who's "we"?
The company I've worked for for the past ~13 years. We've built a major component for ~70% of all NA market Ford and Lincoln SUVs, pass cars, and light duty trucks (F150 and SD thru F450) during that time.

Next gen Mustang will be MY 28 or 29 ... Ford still waffling ATM.

We build a major component for ~70% of all NA market Ford and Lincoln vehicles, including the S650.
That's soon! If the next gen Mustang is MY28, they better get to work since the new generations are usually revealed a year before the model year is released, which would put the reveal next year 🤔 I think the next gen will be a year or two later.

Not wishing to be picky but we are in 2025 now so next year is 2026 and a year on from that is 2027.

As the S650 is a very heavy facelift of the S550 Ford have a choice. A further significant facelift on the existing platform or a whole new platform. The former would be easier and probably cheaper in the short term but the latter will have to come eventually.

The platform is where all of the decision making will be happening at this stage, the rest follows on from that.

Agreed. I can't see the S650 only lasting 5 years. I think it gets a refresh in 2027, and continues on until at least 2030.

I know the order of years 😂 The 2024 mustang was revealed in 2022. The 2015 mustang was revealed in 2013.

If the next gen Mustang is going to be a 2028 model, that means if norms are followed, a reveal would be 2026, which is next year.

Question? Do the current level of sales offer any encouragement for a totally new generation? What would Ford’s sales expectations be to fund a new chassis? And if they did would it just be another rear wheel drive car with two doors and an ICE V8? Does that really make sense in the real world? Wouldn’t you love to be a fly on the wall in a Mustang development meeting?
