Yup you're right about that, I think in a slow economy though even the people that can afford Mustang's are a bit more hesitant to spend their money.

SUV's are not cheaper. Just what people want now.

They are actually cheaper at least in my area. The RAV4 which is one of the best selling is about 10k cheaper than a GT and 2k cheaper than an Ecoboost. And that's just base models not premiums.

OK I'm sure you can finder cheaper SUV's than a Mustang but also some that are much more expensive. My point was cost is not the issue they just want SUV's.

True (in the US) but there is plenty of choice when it comes to SUV's, far too much choice of bland white goods!

They're not cheaper but they're a lot more usable for the money. For example if you buy a Mazda CX-90 for 50k and you buy a Mustang for 50k you're still going to have to buy another vehicle alongside that mustang if you have a family of 3 or more whereas if you bought the Mazda instead you only need to have one vehicle cause it can handle pretty much anything your family will need to get done.
