Do you think there will be a GT350 or GT500 in first year of the New S650 2022/2023 ? ? ? ?

I think they will announce the upcoming halo model sometime in the next 6 months and then release it late next year or early the year after. I really wish the 5.2 would have never happened in a way. Yes both the Voodoo and Predator are great engines, but adding 4% to the engine displacement is such a stupid marketing ploy.

The halo models should have a significant bump in displacement - minimum 25%. 4% is worse than nothing. Spend all that money to make unique parts but yet tying your hands making it very difficult to increase power while keeping the engine reliable. A properly built Coyote could easily duplicate the power production of either the Predator or the Voodoo. A halo engine should be head and shoulders above the standard stuff.
Flat crank planes should not have a large displacement, because it defeats the purpose of light weight and high revving.

Sorry, just cannot see this. A total step backwards. There is no replacement for the Voodoo. Who would shell out for a GT350 with an inferior engine?
That is like saying who would shell out for a 2012 Boss 302 if it had an inferior engine. The 302 sells for a good amount of money nowadays.

I’m late to the party… but I know what the next models will be for the S650.

2023 will be the 50th anniversary of the Mustang Grande……!

Oh I can hear your excitement, but wait…. There’s more my friends………. Oh this is BIG, I mean really big!

2024 will be the 50th anniversary of the…………………………………….………….. wait for it……………………………… the Mustang Ghia…..!!!!!!!!!!!!

How could this entire forum miss this obvious 50 year history correlation?

I agree they should keep FPC V8 displacement under 10 liters. But 5 (or 6 or 7) certainly isn't too large. It just requires a balancing of bore vs. stroke to keep piston speeds reasonable.

S650 Shelby GT500 coming in summer of ‘25 as a ‘26MY, likely with a 7.3L “Godzilla” engine.

If this is an N/A 7.3L in the GT500, that wouldn't be very exciting lol. Add a blower or some Hiroshima spinny bois, and then we're talking.

i know I’m in the minority but I don’t want the 7.3 pushrod anywhere near the mustang.
It would be great for an NA Boss or such, but not for a modded car or a Cobra/GT500. DOHC is what allows the Mustang to make huge power supercharged and turbocharged and still burn clean.

would love to see a 5.8 version of the Coyote though. 5.8 NA Boss and TT 5.8 Cobra would be sick.

No more Shelbys. The yet to be released higher performance S650 will be the Dark Cobra. 😄

Cobra nameplate would be preferred over Shelby this time around, since they are going in on Ford derived names instead of partner derived. Shelby can return 8 gen.

The Cobra introduced IRS tO the mustang in 1999. Twin Turbo and possibly AWD could be introduced next.

and… since Ford has already gone with the dark theme, maybe they’ll go light for the Cobra. “Whitesnake.” Just in time for a cultural heavy metal glam reusurgence …
