Yeah, and a little before that (umm, ~mid ā60s) American mags were really magnesium. At least ours were. If they offered anything other than the Torq-Thrust style we were all unaware of it.
That could certainly happen; Ford is capable of doing anything they want to do. But ~600 NA horsepower in a Mustang? While Iād love to see it I kinda doubt it. The last time they tried it with the GT350 I wouldnāt be surprised if their warranty claim dollars exceeded their per unit profit.
But...
This probably isnāt the kind of thing youāre talking about but one big difference *may* be that there donāt seem to be any ā25 Handling Package DHs on the road yet. At least I havenāt seen any members post one up yet. And weāre getting pretty late in the ā25 production cycle.
I hope Iām wrong...
Nice of you to buy your FIL a 2023 Mach 1. He should be very pleased.
But, is he gonna be able to get away from the bad guys with the stock car or will he too need to go FI to stay on the safe side?
I think that highest bidder thing will eventually be the end game anyway, just a slightly skinnier version of the Ford GT. Unless Ford subsidizes certain buyers in order to gain market visibility these cars arenāt going to be used in a normal sense anyway. Theyāre just gonna be another...
What consistent manufacturing issues were a problem on earlier production ā24s?
Second time in as many days Iāve heard this sort of thing referred to but people only speak in generalities about āproblemsā. Iām curious what issues are common to more ā24s than not, even early builds.
Help me understand your drift a wee bit here please:
What does ā50s in 5.0sā mean, and are you saying the ICE V-8 is safer because it can āextract oneself out of a situationā more quickly than an EcoBoost? I would sure think an EB could get you away from someone wanting to do you harm plenty...
I hadnāt planned to one way or the other but why does that thread bother you so much? Itās pretty much like any other thread where folks have different opinions. Pretty easy to just ignore stuff you donāt like.
IMO thereās a good reason for that. I personally see nothing to be gained by comparing a straight ICE car to an EV. But then again, Iām pretty much a closed-minded hard liner so thereās that.
Agreed. Might as well do a business jet vs. a golf cart. But hey, Iām pretty sure the point isnāt to...
IMO this would make the most sense simply because they could (and probably would) combine any refresh/redesign with the introduction of the hybrid platform. Why go to the expense to do a straight ICE refresh only to have to do the inevitable hybrid thing a couple years later?
Well sure.
As long as you donāt mind going through a pre-flight ritual before every key cycle and/or consulting the online only encyclopedic ownerās manual every time something new pops up.
Personally I mind and attempt to avoid it if possible.
Iād be pleasantly shocked if it were a [NA] upgraded V8; itād have to be 575+ hp to get anybodyās attention and Ford has shown thatās kinda getting into the edgy zone of long-term warrantable reliability. So that pretty much leaves the 750 hp supercharged thing, which is becoming old hat...
After only two years? I sure wouldnāt think so. Whatās to be gained by going to the expense? Like them or not, the S650 still looks fresh and new alongside a ā23. And the supposed sales slowdown that seems to be a recent favorite topic in these parts certainly isnāt attributable to dated...
