In Europe we don't have 87AKI aka 91RON. Our gasoline starts from 91aki aka 95RON.

I never thought the American 87 is equivalent to the European 91.

The only downside of the European 95RON is that they mix it nowadays with a lot of ethanol. So the safest way to go ois 98RON aka 93AKI
How much ethanol do they use?

In the USA regular gasoline is E10

we have a couple stations that sell non-ethanol but it's meant for things like lawn equipment or recreational vehicles, it's a bit more expensive

Same in Europe. E10 in Euro95 (91) and E5 in Euro 98 (93).

Maybe I'll start using 94 when I get a raise and if I start flooring it everywhere. But fact of the matter is I value the flexibility of being able to gas up at any gasoline equipped Co-op cardlock in farmsville. Makes the logistics of long distance travel much less of a headache trying to plan my route to find stations that carry a high octane. I bought this car to be able to take my girl out on nice long roadtrips in comfort. Not to be a track toy or have drag races between stoplights. I'd much rather spend that extra money on more frequent oil changes!

Like a few other comments in here were saying too there's like 3 feet of snow on the ground right now anyways I don't need all 480+ HP when I can barely get 150 to stick.

I live in florida most of the year its well into, the dog just melted when i let it out in the yard hot i run 93. For the 15 minutes of reasonable temps it handles 87/89 fine. Though i tend to use 93 as a default or keep some vp octanium on hand to add a few points back. I do notice the cam phasers are more active when using lower octane.

Honest question here, because I don’t know:

For those that want to use 93, why pay $16 (or whatever it is) more per tank when you can add something like this for under $3 a tank?

MMT will leave deposits on O2 sensors, spark plugs, etc (it turns them yellow/brown), regular use will cause them to wear out faster

And, do you believe that they work as advertised?

First off, octane boosters are often misleading. That particular one you have linked to claims to boost octane by 20 points (or 2 rating numbers) so you've went from 87 octane to 89 octane at best. Secondly octane boosters typically use older style chemicals such as manganese and other oxygenates that are not recommended for modern emissions systems. I could be wrong but I thought I saw a blurb in the owners manual that advised against using such fuel additives as any damages to the catalytic converters or engine would not be covered under warranty if the fuel tested positive for such chemicals.

Thirdly that listing only applies to the US. That particular one is unable to be shipped outside of the US, and chemicals like that are typically hard to order in bulk through Amazon or what have you, or our listings that we can get up north aren't as good of a deal. And to buy that in stores you're easily looking $12-$22 a bottle depending on the brand. I've only used octane boosters as an emergency measure during wildfire events in vehicles that REQUIRED 91 octane minimum and I couldn't source it from the pump. And hoo boy was that an expensive tank of 87 with all those octane boost bottles thrown in!

That's why you buy Boostane or Octanium, 100% works and you can just addd a few ounces to go from 91-94

I’m running 91 non-ethanol for the winter, because it will sit for stretches when there’s too much snow/slush/salt. The rest of the time I’m going to run Sunoco 94. Paid for 486 hp, might as well get them all.
Here in Colorado the Highest Octane is 91 because of the Altitude.
I only use 91 Octane.
If I could get 94 Octane I would be very lucky 🍀.
The 2024 GT Premium could probably run on Panther Pi??
Regardless of what anyone says you can very easily know the difference between 87 & 91.
Your Gt or Ecoboost will run sluggish compared to the higher Octane!

I doubt it. Nor between 87 & 93. But I’ll put my money where my mouth is.

My car is a daily driver, I sit in traffic a lot, but I also do get to do some spirited driving.

I know that 87 is not hurting my car, so I'm not worried about that, but I will fill up my tank with 93 the next four times (first time was this morning). I will come back in about a month and I will honestly report on what I see/feel, and if I notice any ounce of difference in anything, or if I’m just throwing my money away.
