Just one.

This comes up all the time so you can do a search and read for days. But why in the world would anyone buy a beautiful new PP GT manual Mustang then cheap out on fuel? I just do not get it! Sure, it’ll probably run on 87 but not at it‘s best. I personally can’t see owning a car like this and not getting all it has to offer.

I'd note that inside the fuel door on my GT says 87 is the minimum.

Yes do not use anything but top grade! Especially so if you had an Eco-Boost instead of a GT!

I have been always using "regular" gasoline for ages without any issues. It's a v8, it can run on anything.

In the winter and snow I run 87 octane. It's not like I need all 486 HP and the full torque that running 93 will give me. I'm going to be easy on the throttle, and not pushing the car so might as well use the 87 octane. It isn't going to hurt the engine at all, it was designed to run on 87.

The only reason to run 93 is because the knock sensors will adjust the timing and allow you to get the full 486 HP - and I do in the summer when I can use it. In reality though the "butt dyno" hasn't detected a difference.

I’m running 91 non-ethanol for the winter, because it will sit for stretches when there’s too much snow/slush/salt. The rest of the time I’m going to run Sunoco 94. Paid for 486 hp, might as well get them all.

I've never burned fuel with lower than 93 octane, in my Ecoboost Mustang.
However, my daily driver is an Ecoboost Ford Fusion, and I burn ether 89 octane or when available, E15.
I don't have any knock issues, with ether Ecoboost vehicle.

Can't include a link but I recall reading a performance comparison on a Coyote using 87vs91 octane and there was very little difference.

Even with 87 you're faster than most cars on the road.

My thoughts is do as you please. The car is designed for 87+, it says it on the gas cap and in the owners manual, so don't have people sway you into believing it will damage your car.

Most of us put 91 because we want to get the HP we paid for.

To be fair that is 87 octane + 'enough boostane to make it 93 octane', right?

I wish they would have used just straight 93
