I bought my 2024 from Canada for 48.000 Euro. When I spec that same car in the USA it is 67.000 USD, which comes to 64.000 Euro.

That's 16.000 Euro difference lol

So just for shits and giggles I built a 2025 GT/CS to mirror my 19’. The 25’ is $61,055. My 19’ was $49,500. And I thought $50k was insane for a Mustang. I think I’m going to keep to my 10 year plan. 🤭
Let's compare 2019 vs 2025:

BTW: It's '19, not 19'. The latter indicates 19 feet.

I think the users complaining about the price don't understand the concept of inflation and are upset at the wrong people 🤦🏻‍♂️

I totally understand inflation and the economics of it. And I’m not upset at anyone. I do feel bad that my current Mustang could be my last.

Just keep your skills and salary up and it won't. My first new Mustang was my 1991 5.0L 5-speed LX Fastback in all black. In between dozens of many other rides, including a Z06, I've bought 3 other new Mustangs.

I mean if they would actually build them when they are ordered, they might sell more of them. A year and 8 months for my order to come in seems a little ridiculous.
Which lends credence to this line in the article.

”It's unclear if other factors like supply or manufacturing issues contributed to the hefty year-over-year drop”.

Keep raising the price - seems like it's working out.

Ford is focused on margins finally… no more selling at a loss and making it up with volume… if they can’t net 8-10%… and OVER 10% is stated goals, no point building it.

So… 60,70,80K trucks and 50,60,70K mustangs.

This is also why they were laser focused on switching to EVs..Tesla had margins in the mid 20’s..
OEM’s have been salivating to get their slice of the pie.

How well did that work out for Stellantis?

The finite number of buyers only gets smaller as you go upmarket.

You’re 100% correct about stellantis, perhaps we have a real recession and some companies get wiped out again… what did we lose last time?

Plymouth, Pontiac, mercury, Saturn, Oldsmobile…

I think we could definitely lose Fiat, Buick, Lincoln and Chrysler this time around.

The US has seen unprecedented inflation over the past 4 years. We suffered through Covid, the highest inflation in 40 years, and the the highest interest rates in 40 years.

If inflation isn’t cooled off we will see 100K Mustang GTs in 5 years (if Ford is still making them.)

But a 100K Mustang GT will be the least of your worries if you can barely afford food and basics for daily living.

I would fully expect a massive recession IF the economy is not course corrected soon….
