I wouldn't say that, those images are usually representative if the actual design. Take off the spoiler and we're most likely looking at the profile for the s650.
I'd be more then will to place a wager that the image we are seeing is nothing more than a wooden and/or clay model. I admit all the speculation and conjecture is a lot of fun, but that's all it really is. I'm just glad to see Ford getting back into the mix. Can you say Boss S650!!! :)

I've always wanted a BOSS... Wonder what the wife will think of a modified 10 year car plan. I'll surprise her and then enjoy the car after I'm out of the hospital.

Just explain the '19 was a trial run. Then watch Interstellar with her and explain that time is relative.

I hope the fast back goes all the way back to the end of the trunk. that's always bugged me on my s550 it looks incomplete to me. If they could do that and drop the roof a little to get rid of the bubble look I'd put a deposit on one asap as long as a na v8 6 speed is available.

It's obviously two pieces of foam and a sandwich under that tarp.

I have to say that I don't quite see the GT3 lines on the S650 prototype. You can easily see that the strongest outline is on the heigth of the doorhandle, going all through the side, and then a dominant line is the from the mirror to the front fender. I still think the rear will have the "wing"-style rear quarter shoulderlines. It just matches the new Mondeo/Evos lines perfectly:

On the GT3 the side lines are a high shoulder line along the mirror, following the front fender. The high shoulder rear quarter seems a bit too strong to me. So my best guess is that the GT3 is indeed a S650 but more like GT350 or GT500 preview that could feature slightly different body lines - Just like the C8.R previewed the Z06 that have way wider fenders and totally different body panels

Time will tell. I'm starting to wonder if the s650 will really look like that sculpture. It doesn't seem to have the massive grille. Maybe the general shape of the sculpture was hinting at what we could expect - longer hood, roofline going all the way to the back etc. But we'll see. The design language previewed with the sculpture has only been used on Ford's for the Chinese market. So those design cues may not even make their way to global models. Who knows at this point aside from Ford lol.

In all seriousness, I'd imagine Ford will show some kind of teaser for the New York auto show, before revealing the s650 in Detroit. That teaser could be showing off a race car version of the s650, it could be some images of the car in the shadows, or showing off design sketches. There's a lot they could so without revealing the production design too early.

What if they did some things like the MINI Cooper GP has with the fenders?
