the secondary paint shop can't process more than 13% of main line rate. Since it costs quite some millions to build a paint-shop, they are unlikely to invest the money. So NP optioned cars are in a world of hurt and get pushed WAY back in the priority queue.

scratch the black roof and you'll see the body color underneath. The entire body is painted in one go. The black roof is a re-finish operation just like painted stripes are. The body has to be masked off and and a much smaller paint shop handles the deed, not the automated paint shop.

hey now, this is a rant thread and fair game. I consider the Black package one of the all-time dumbest. But I was also providing solutions. I may be "trouble" with one hand, but I also try to dish out "helpful" where I can.
the problem is they don't paint it during assembly, they do it AFTER. So it has to go to the "rework" shed. And apparently the units/hr of that operation is so bad it puts a major crimp on thruput. IMO Ford needs to break out the black roof into a separate SKU.
not familiar with the headlamps, but people tint those all the damn time. mirror caps just pop off, get some from a black car. The price for the genuine black spoiler is probably redonculous. But any good body shop can remove the original and put the new one properly.
and in houston why would you even want black? Don't you have a heat-management problem as it is? For $1000 you can buy yourself some vinyl, actually GOOD wheels that are black and a can of plastidip or official emblems if you must.

Yeah hellcat with stick shift is 68k MSRP which I can get at 3% below invoice no less. Ct4v blackwing is same money and has 4 doors and excellent greenhouse and actual gauges and reasonable materials.

The GT/PP may be using the v3 system. We don't know for certain. The DH is supposed to be using the v4 product just like GM has been for C8 and Blackwings. Whether Ford decided to do a better job this time around on the tuning is anyone's guess.
