Why did you choose an automatic over a manual.

I went with the automatic because the wife said she didn't like when I was rowing through the gears (I had two previous mustangs with a manuals). I must say now that I have driven it a bit and it seemed to have learned the way I drive I sorta like it. Guess I'm getting lazy as I get older

Two back surgeries and I can’t be using my left foot on a clutch on a daily driver.

Because automatic is way more comfortable.
And because we in Europe don't see it as a flex to drive manual because everybody who has a drivers license has to drive a manual before getting it.

I noticed in the US many people feel the need to prove to others that they can drive a manual. 🤣

Bad hip at 64yo. I learned to drive in a Chevy Van 3 on the tree. My first new car was a 1984 Rabbit GTI manual. My driving goes from stop and go to 65mph all the way so i saw no benefit in going manual. I don't race or track. I do play around with the paddle shifters though. It's enough for me.

I have a couple other manual sports cars. I figured didnt need another manual, and I definitely made the right choice. This automatic V8 is great! I-95 traffic is a bear, as is route 1 much of the time. I get tired of manuals day after day.

I drove manuals for many years (and learned to drive on a manual Mustang in 1982!), but when I bought my 2007, I was living in Germany and experiencing the stop and go traffic for miles and miles on the Autobahn, so I ordered an automatic and never went back. I almost regret the automatic in my 2024, but eh... I'm old and set in my ways now. 😆

I also went with an automatic in my 2024 GT. After having the last six fun cars with manual transmissions, I just got tired of shifting gears. The new automatics are quick and with the paddle shifters give you some extra options. At times Ford doesn't do well with manual transmissions and clutches. Ask me about my Bullitt and Shelby...
Hopefully the A-10 will be a good transmission. Go with the auto, you won't be sorry!

Bad left knee to start out, driving in stop and go traffic daily, the automatic is a stronger transmission, and I can use the paddle shifters if I feel the need to manually shift.

Spent many years driving a stick, no need to have one now to prove to others that I can do it. Told my daughters when they got their licenses that it was a skill they needed to learn and bought manual cars for them too at 16.

Did she say why? Just curious… My wife never learned how to drive a stick and she gets a little worried that a situation might come up where she needed to drive but couldn’t.

I’m lucky enough to have both and mine aren't DDs so I just go with how I feel on a given day. And of course how my knees, hip and back are feeling.

I would have to with an automatic just because it sucks sitting in rush hour traffic with a manual.

i got an auto for 7 main reasons in descending order
1. occasionally, something in my left hip gets pinched when i move it, causing lots of pain (even though im only 25)
2. i get stressed too easily when at a light in a manual
3. stop and go traffic is easier to deal with
4. it shifts very fast, and in normal and slippery, very smoothly
5. road trips are easier
6. no extra steps in the event of an emergency stop or when racing
7. if i just need to go somewhere or am just in a "just go home" mood, the auto is good for that

i am able to drive a manual reasonably well, even able to rev match downshift fairly consistently. however, reason 1 is the main reason why i got an auto. if that nerve(?) gets pinched and i had a manual, that is going to prevent me from going anywhere, because sometimes it gets pinched so bad that i just have to stop moving at all for a bit. for reason 2, i am very self conscious and getting honked at throws me off so much. i got to drive a manual Bronco a few weeks ago and stalled it and missed 1 or 2 lights because of the stress. i dont deal with stress well at all
