For a vehicle like a Mustang, spring launch (or for the vehicle to be available for spring/summer/fall cruising) makes the most sense I'd think. Launching in fall would arguably be counter-productive, at least for half the country that gets colder weather maybe..

The job add clearly stated "Ford 2023 Mustang S650".
A '23 is usually released towards the end of 2022 ;)

I do agree, having new models available to customers from Spring so they can be enjoyed immediately makes most sense, but Ford will build them whenever they are ready and customers will still buy them, even if some immediately store them for sunnier days.

The Mustangs currently rolling out of Flatrock are '21MY cars. The '20MY was unusually long, thanks to Covid. The Mustang model year usually runs October to October (sometimes September) but the '20MY ran from October 2019 to end of December 2020. The '21MY only (officially) started rolling of the production line on 4th January 2021.

Ford intends to get back on track with the '22MY expected in October 2021. This screenshot is specific to the GT500 enrollment program, but does highlight that "tentative" October date.

I think the next Mustang frontend could look pretty close to the newly revealed A6 e-tron. Besides the blacked out vents on the Audi, the design language is similiar to the sculpture.

Agreed. And we can see this design language in the new Evos images, posted today.

Remove the lights on the side of the frontend, make the lower part a bit more sporty and I would actually really like this as a Mustang. I will try to make a Mustang rendering based on this in the upcoming days

Even the rear is pretty close:

Absolutely, and if they deliver a V6- or V8 hybrid will similiar awesome sound as they have now, I think it really will be an attractive car. The savings on tax and insurance here would make the Mustang really affordable. Of course you will never please the "but a Mustang need a pure V8" crowd.

With pretty much all new Fords getting leaked online early, I hope it will not very long until we see first real S650 details soon. With the Evos revealed it should be easy to spot on camod S650s how close the design will be

These drawing were provided in this article: https://www.motor1.com/news/501822/ford-evos-reveal-photos/

The car itself looks like a "high riding wagon" and based on this drawings and other information we've received so far I can easily see a 4-door Mustang and the overall design language of the S650. I see a lot of opportunities to evolve this into a real good looking Mustang.

Besides, what’s interesting to me is the shown interior… I dislike the XXL screen but I think the center console could very much be the same in an (automatic) S650. Furthermore, the steering wheel will most certainly represent future changes… less knobs more “touch”.

I actually quite like that front! It does evoke a bit of that Camaro bumper everyone hated.

The rear though, not my fave, looks tad Stinger-ish? I get being completely original with so many designs is rare now. But I hope they don't do the light bar across the entire tail. I like the tri bars etc that harken back to the first gen Mustangs.

I'm a young "techie" and like technology as much as the next guy, but dear lord all those screens...

I do NOT like that rear arch/hip design language they are going for in the sculpture and Evos concept.... I hope that doesn't make it into the final 7g design. That being said, the Evos concept I think pretty much validates the sculpture as what the 7g will look like front to back, arches included... I truly hope I am wrong or that it looks better in person...

Fine for a run off the mill SUV/crossover but the next Mustang? Am I the only one who thinks it wouldn't look good? When the 18 facelift came out, I didn't like it at all...it grew on me and now I love it. Give me time and I'll want that S650:crackup:
