'First guy: there is this old hybrid concept from almost 10 years ago and there is a new Mustang GT500 successor in the pipeline...
Second guy: new GT500 coming, I could imagine they pair it with the hybrid concept...
Third guy: my sources have told me...
'most likely' in terms of 'we don't know the specific name right now so at least there's a .1% chance that it's going to be called GT500 but most cetainly not' ;-)
Hardly anyone believes that the GT500 successor will be called GT500 but it's the best we can call it atm. It also shows how much better GT500 is compared to Boss, Cobra and what not. Everyone in the world understands that GT500 is above 350 and above a GT. No one (outside some old school fans)...
I just hope they don't use that name. Besides the fact that it's already used by a car that is powered by the Coyote engine - AC Cobra GT - the OG Cobra is just something completely different than what a Mustang is and has been. No one needs that copy cat name except, well, the Cobra.
If it's 'just' a refreshed GT500 with GTD parts - and that's our best guess at the moment - then we don't get a manual option or a EU version...:crying:

As mentioned in the title the guys over at Ford Authority spotted the first GT500 with production body. They have many pictures as well.

In Germany the average price per 'premium' (91 Octane) gallon is around $7.15 so I would say prices in Washington State are as good as it gets 😅
If you don't push the car and use it as a GT car you won't feel much difference as you should loose around 15 to 25 HP. However, in Germany the car is...
Almost all BMWs these days are somewhat generic. Fantastic AT, no drop in performance in consecutive runs, almost instant torque and HP ... If you're looking for a 'tool' that does exactly what it's meant for buy a BMW or if you have the money to spend buy a Porsche - they're just better.
But...
I think that’s a pretty good summary. Look at the car, sit in it, dive it and at the end of the day you get two almost completely different cars although they’re quite similar on paper. They somehow get cross shopped but from my own experience and what I can witness all around me is that you are...
I have driven both, the B58 engine in the 240 is exceptional, cheap, reliable, easy to tune and can generate around 460hp with ease (stage 1) at the wheels. Much cheaper than a M2...
However, the M2 is much more of a race/track car than the 240i. The S58 can be tuned to around 700hp with...
A car should be defined by its engine so the GT should've been the DH to begin with.
Ecoboost
GT
GT350
GT500
Has been and will always be the best way to differentiate each individual model. Eco=small engine, GT = regular V8, GT350 = a GT with an upgraded engine, GT500 = GT with the biggest...
The 'Mercedes-Benz CLS 350 CDI Bluetec Shooting Brake 4Matic' would disagree with you, as would the 'Lincoln Continental Mark V Landau Four Door Hardtop'...
What about 'Ford Mustang Dark Horse Boss 5.0 NA V8 Hybrid AWD Gen 7 Two Door Softtop FlatRock Final Edition' ?
Aside from the name I would...
It's just a place holde where, as far as I am informed, certain instruments can be mounted to measure emission output or other stuff. It's almost always a give away that new stuff is tested.
I wouldn't read too much into the bird's-nest rims as mules always use what is available at the moment.
https://fordauthority.com/2025/05/2026-ford-mustang-dark-horse-boss-possibly-spotted-testing-pics/
It says that the car pictured is a beefier DH but still road legal... Don't we have the S and R versions? Maybe a DH successor or a refresh? Mach 1 and the Bullit also only had fairly short...
I'm certain that it'll cost a little over a nickel and a dime... The last time I checked BMW charged 2900€ for an individual paint job. Expensive but compared to other options and what level of individuality it grants it's almost a no-brainer at that price point. Ford just has to get it's $hit...
Why is it not possible to get the car in any color you like?
They increased the price drastically (especially here in Europe), EU buyers have to pay extra for almost every color and apart from that the paint job isn't really top notch... How is it possible that Ford asks $70000 for a Mustang but...
I don't know.
Obviously it looks like a no-brainer to add hybrid tech to the Ecoboost but I think the market is limited. Who cares about a hybrid 4-banger with ~400hp? The car will be heavier and most likely will offer a worse power/ratio than the regular Ecoboost...
They might sell it here in...
Not really. First off, it's fun and entertaining. Second, both cars have been cross shopped in the past (their predecessors) and both are the current top of line models.
HP on it's own is a pointless information if we don't look at the weight as well. 500hp on a truck that pulls 40 tons is...
https://www.just-auto.com/news/germany-car-makers-dropping-250km-h-speed-limit/
That article is 20 years old but gives some background knowledge. Besides, there are almost no cars that can do 250km/h comfortably. My BMW might hit 270 but it takes ages to get there and going above 240 really is...
