Have you tried double tapping the gas pedal?

Again, I'm releived this bit of knowledge was so well received. I just Googled it and apparently any Ford A10 trans will do this.

Though I saw on Reddit some said any auto trans will do this, which I don't believe.

Ninjack: It may work in your Raptor. If yours has the 10 speed, it is very possible.

DavidSteele: I don't turn my nose up on Ecoboost. It has 15 more hp than my 06 GT did with the stock 4.6 V8. I would guess you will notice a fun gear drop as well!

I've used this often in my 2024 DH. It gets real aggressive when you are in track mode and super cool in sport. Open up your exhaust and double tap coming into a light or exiting a highway and you'll wake everyone around you. Very cool feature

I must try this next drive. There are times when normal kickdown is too violent, and dropping a couple of gears and accelerating more gently is a better option.
I've been using paddles to do it, but this sounds like a nice extra option.
Agreed. I added a Whipple on my '25 DHP. Just "flooring it" can become handful in a hurry.

Just in case you guys ever get into a Chevy with the A10, it also has the same exact feature but you activate it in a completely different way. Instead of the double pump you just hold down the left paddle and it drops to the lowest available gear and goes. In practice this was easier and more consistent for me but it would now exclude the EB guys so glad Ford did it their way. (EB should also still get the paddles IMHO)

This was also a feature of the rental Fusion 1.5 EcoBoost from about 2019...

I discovered something else about the A10 when in Sport mode by accident. When braking aggressively, it downshifts 2-3 times, maybe more depending on how long you're braking. It actually sounds like a race car braking before a turn, which is where this would be very useful.

Yes. Its supposed to keep you in a certian RPM range. Track mode does this with amazing precision. One tap and it will down shift.

The way I originally heard it was that you had to push the pedal to the floor, then immediately lift, then push it back down. I made a video to show a friend of mine, back when the A10 was new, how it worked because they were considering getting an auto but weren't confident that they could react to quick acceleration needs, etc. It's a crude video with bad aduio, but at the beginning, if you hear me say "now," that's when I pushed the pedal to the floor, lifted, and re-applied the throttle. You can see it goes from 10th to 4th.
