So, I’m sorry but what exactly is a 1 ft. rollout?

Was just regular ol’ 0-60 not good enough? It seemed fine for about a jillion years.

The Motor Trend test is more apples to apples. All the reference cars were manual transmissions. The new 2024 Mustang GT with the Performance Pack outran the MACH 1 in the 1/4 mile by 1/10 of a second and trapped 1.6 mph higher than the MACH 1 as well. The 2024 Mustang was faster than every car they mentioned. Not sure why they threw the "Should have" comment in there. Maybe they were expecting a bigger jump but with more weight and a small bump in power the test went as expected using basic math.

The Mach 1 HP has a ton of drag lol. These results are what I expect honestly. The 24 GT is almost dead even with a 18-21 GT. I expect similar results with Dark Horse HP and Mach 1 HP. The big downer is interest rates at 7-8%

Basically with one magazine going one way and another going the other... makes it a drivers race ...

Other things missing are track prep and temperature variances...

I think most likely may need to wait for someone to line them up side by side to get answers

Anyone come up with a screen hack yet? I’ll bet Mission Impossible would look great with the B&O audio while sitting at the beach. That would be cool.

When comparing the S550 to S650 were the rear axle ratios the same for each car, 3:55 or 3.73? There's a 1/10 or better right there.

In Europe we measure 0-62mph and looking at these numbers, I am doubting the S650 GT (10AT) techical data will be better than the S550. Either the same or even worse.

A lot of people will look at it like this: The old car is: lighter, faster, more easily modified (for now at least) and most importantly cheaper. That matters to a lot of people. There will be a mid-cycle refresh where Ford will update the S650 and I'm sure it will be given more power. Until that happens S550 owners may just wait.
I personally do not see an increase in HP even with a refresh. Just because the DH exists. Now I will say that the power increase for the 18+ models was before the EPA Crack down. They even took 10 hp away with a piece of plastic in the intake box for 21 models. The refresh might be mostly interior stuff than an increase in power. I think they nerfed this engine way more than the gen 3 just to get it past EPA. The 4 gen engine has probably 4 times the restrictions than the gen 3. So if you were to remove the restrictions, I think the engine is well above 480. It's just gonna take people willing to break the engine down to find all the restrictions and retesting it afterwards. But this just my opinion.

Ford already stated the only thing keeping the GT engine from matching the Dark Horse at 500 hp is the tune. The Dark Horse also has to meet the EPA restrictions. I expect the 2027 GT to put out 500 at a minimum.

I don't see it when they have other variants to release. I'm not EPA but I'm sure the GT being what it is was how they can make other variants. I'm sure the mustang wouldn't meet EPA as soon as the GT500 and other variants release. If they didn't detune the car to keep it under certain levels, then those cars couldn't exist. Especially since the GT will account for more sales then the DH and other special variants put together. I don't see them doing that to the base engine not on paper. That's why i think there are small removable restrictions on the car itself for people to remove to get the HP the engine is actually capable of making. Ford just can't say that without losing billions of dollars due to EPA and the Gov. I do think the engine is at 500 and the DH engine is probably 520-530. But they have enough restrictions on them to kill 15-30 hp.

I agree with you. If I had a 18+ GT or Mach I wouldn't switch ...

But if I had a 15 to 17 or no Mustang at all... and wanted a new car vs used I would strongly consider the 24 Mustang... OK I would probably buy a 24 Mustang lol

Agreed, nothing real compelling for me to switch out. I will probably hang tight or move on to an M2.

Correction, the 2022 models.
