They ran just a tenth off with a 2018 Mustang GT Auto. The test for the 2018 was 0-60 in 3.8 sec and the 1/4 mile in 12.1 @118.8mph, .4mph more speed with the 2018. The DH was 160lbs heavier than the 2018 Mustang GT they tested.
Dark Horse put up just about the same numbers as a Shelby gt500, and I don't think anyone expected that.

"Making its way around our figure-eight course in 23.7 seconds at a 0.86 g average proves it has legitimate track skills (any performance under 24.0 seconds is seriously quick). It held on to the corners at 1.06 g, only a couple hundredths behind the stickiest Shelby GT350Rs that we've tested, and those cars are 300 pounds lighter than the Dark Horse.
That figure-eight lap time means the Dark Horse matches the outgoing Mustang Mach 1 with the Handling pack and comes up 0.1 second shy of the 200-pounds-lighter 2018 Mustang GT Performance Pack Level 2."

It's same figure 8 as Mach 1 HP though. So we can assume PZero Trofeo RS are on par with Cup 2 in same sizes. Which mean that the braking distance is 86 vs 96 ft is from the new Brembo's which are exiting to say the least. Hopefully FP will do a Dark Horse Brakes package similar to the GT350 package in the catalog.

i just laughed at how ABSURD an 86ft 60-0 is. That’s amazing.

And the 0-60 and 1/4 figures are respectable.

Quick! Get this into the threads about people losing their shit over poor 1/4 performance figures.
I remember when the sn197 was beating the s550 in some drag races and everyone was losing their shit over it. Comments galore of how this proved IRS ruined the mustang and how the s550 destroyed the mustang's legacy.

Yeah, any negative comments regarding the s550 agreed like milk left in the Arizona heat. It looks like the same thing is happening here. People in the car community are so quick to hate for some reason, and so frequently are they wrong. Glad to see the s650 kicking ass and knocking down the haters.

Early-era S550 talk was aneurysm inducing. “But muh solid rear axles”

While It’s not an analogous situation, extreme rhetoric that’s hyper pro or against the S650 is equally groan inducing

I was around for this on M6G (check my join date). They hated the looks, then the performance, then eventually, everyone had one. Seems familiar.... either way, I love all Mustangs. I'm glad its still around!

I thought the best GT500 time on 0-60 was 3.3. Anyways...glad to see the Dark Horse does put down better numbers. I wouldn't trade out for it, but it gives hope for the next performance variants that might get my interest.

I wish they would just tell us all the variants from the start. Don't care about preformance stuff. But just the names so we knew which one to save up for.

I don’t know about the DH, but I’m not real thrilled with the speed of mine. Of course I really don’t plan on getting a speeding ticket, but it doesn’t seem to have as much get up and go as our 79 TA
Girl.......You got to lay off the box wine. That's a 15 plus second car in the quarter . With, what? Around 200HP stock? I just rode in two of them a few weeks ago. S......L......O.......W........

But it was 1979 and all. So it was impressive in some areas.

It was a four-speed, one of the fastest cars they had made, and it was squeal, tires, in all 4 gears. I wish I still had it

Thats because it is 3.3 .....I have driven multiple GT500- Mach 1s - GT PP1 A10 cars - and I can tell you without a doubt...... they messed up if they had a 3.7 0-60 .... most other people were getting in the low 3s and there have been guys that dipped into the 10s on a stock tire completely 100% bone stock

From a driving perspective - there is NO way a DH is even close to a GT500 acceleration wise - I mean the difference between my car and my old GT PP1 A10 - after driving the 500 I got back into my cars each time and thought something was wrong my car felt so slow

I am really hoping once it’s broke in I will feel the power. I am not 100% sure on the break-in period. It says 100 city miles or 1000 highway miles, but that makes no sense to me. I would think more like 500 city miles maybe?
