I haven't watched the whole video yet, but I did watch the driving portion, and I'm happy to hear that you think the steering is much improved from the S550. There has been so much talk of the steering recently based solely on the Throttle House video, so it's nice to get a second opinion--particularly from a former S550 owner.

One question: In Car and Driver's video, Carlos Lago mentioned that it felt like the car had a soft redline around 7250 or 7300 and that it didn't actually let you rev to 7500. Is this something you guys noticed while on track?

I jumped to the driving portion first! One thing I keep hearing on the forums is that the first thing most people are going to change is part of or the entire exhaust system. Listening to that Coyote roar and I am good with the stock exhaust!! And that surprises even me, as my '06 GT has straight pipe with progressive size increases to the exhaust tips.

Great job, but I would love to hear more of that exhaust song!!!

As I went back and viewed the video from the beginning, several thing stood out. This car was designed based mostly on Gen Z and Millennial impressions. This is a mixed bag, it could tend to turn Boomers away, and attract the Gen Z and Millennials which Ford seems to shifting toward, after all, they will be ones buying their products long after us Boomers are gone.

I skipped the entire S550 generation, and getting a very thorough look at the underbelly of this beast was great and very informative for me.

For those of you with experience with the S550, what are your impressions of the mechanics of the S650?

A big thank you to all of the Ford Employees giving the in depth views of the Dark Horse!

Awesome stuff, as always guys.

Glad to hear I'm not alone in thinking the steering changes feel much better in the 650 compared to the 550.

Really, really well done video.
When you drive a s550 back to back with a s650 like i did its hard to make the argument the s650 isnt better

How would you compare the interior quality and feel, to say, an M2?

Great video as always and I agree the dark horse is better, but is it ~12 grand better? In the video you mentioned suspension being better than last gen, is this compared to a mach 1? M1 seems to have the same suspension set up, the only difference is the new steering rack and MR calibration. It looks very similar underneath otherwise.

The wonderful dealer advertised on here, Granger, is doing MSRP on the DH which with fees is $65k (premium trim). My 2022 M1 premium from them was $53k.

I think for mach 1 owners the justification to upgrade is not there, even considering inflation. But for new mustang owners though... I can see it the exterior and screens being worth the price.

Great job on the video! Thank you for your honesty and getting someone at Ford to actually be honest about carryover aspects of this car. I hope I get to try an S650 someday.

Really great video! So, did he spin the car at the ~30:00 Mark in the video? Looked like they cut away as it lost control.
