The trunk thing is strange.

When I did some changes to the DRL 2 weeks ago I rember that my trunk opened and I was like "huh? Did it open by itself or did I press accidentaly on the trunk button while the key was in my pocket. Until this day I still don't know if it was because of the changes or I pressed a button.

Just wanted to share this since he also had a trunk related thing when playing with DRL.
its possible you could have unknowingly hit the trunk release button on the headlight switch. when i was a lot attendant, i did that a lot on Focuses and Fiestas because it seems like the drivers of those are short, but being 6' 1", i am not, and i frequently hit the button with my knee

Well… I blame you guys for making me spend money!!! Lol

Mongoose cable on the way! In all reality it’s probably not a bad idea to have one anyways because I also have a 2017 F150.

and yes, this does work on 2024 job 1 vehicles, but you NEED to program the HCM with a 2024 job 2 or later programming. also change the VIN in the HCM afterwards with your own, or any subsequent FDRS sessions on the vehicle will complain about a VIN mismatch
Is this a PMI, Configuration, or Calibration?
A PMI is having me run into that mid match so how do I swap Vins?

PMI. if you need to swap VINs for the HCM, you can do that in FORScan. FDRS should cry about there being multiple VINs and the answer is to then make a session under the HCM's VIN

I got it through FDRS to take after saying I’m back to my original vin my cross traffic and blind spot are upset with me. Not one thing it’s another. Should I just try and PMI the module?

its totally normal for there to be messages on the dash, programming modules is quite traumatic for the whole network

I know I know that part it’s lights I hope to only see during this. Most modules were pissed after running a network test. Now the only one that won’t go back to a positive status is my Side Obstacle Detection Module on the left side. Wack.
Did a re configure we are peachyšŸ˜Ž
First time ever messing with FDRS I have higher praises for my techs this is not some click and relax stuff.

programming modules is a lot like yelling instructions at a sleeping animal. its gonna be bothered and might put up a bit of a fight, but as long as you dont do something stupid, you're good. but if you do, its gonna hurt, and recovery isnt cheap (and is non-warrantable). and in the end, you probably want to yell as few instructions as you can in order to reduce the chance of problems

Question. Whats stopping manufacturers just making new headlights with amber DRL/fixtures.

for context, my mechanical/electrical car knowledge makes a hard cut off past 1995 and I dont know anything post carburetors and port fuel injection, so explain to me like im 5. Can’t they just make the glass/plastic lens amber? Can’t LED’s also just… like… be amber?

sorry for the ignorance on the subject, lmao

yeah, but why not just make new projector housings with amber LED’s, instead of DRL’s that can be both white and amber?
You are talking about aftermarket companies or from the factory?
