I was talking about the internal screens BUT I looked in to this a while ago.
I didn’t find a ForScan code for this. The only thing I can think of is using FDRS and reflashing the module responsible for tail light controls from a premium or dark horse VIN similar to how we have to do the GTD...
I saw the RTR startup animations for both screens on the press release and they are pretty nice! I wonder if Ford already snuck these in on a recent update. Might have to do some testing on some of the values that weren’t used previously. It would be a nice add seeing I have a few RTR parts on mine.
You’ll want a power supply. Something like a Clore P2320. FDRS highly recommends a power source. What’s nice about the P2320 is it has a PS mode but is also a really good tender/trickle charger.
Here are the steps if you have a job 1 that I’d recommend;
1. Go into ForScan and access the HCM and take a snapshot of 732-12-01 through 732-12-04. This is your VIN and will be used later.
2. log out and remove the USB side of your pass through from your computer.
3. open and log in to FDRS...
you would just need to reflash the LDCMA and B modules back to your VIN. It takes like 2 minutes BUT you would need an FDRS license. It’s fine if you know someone that has it but a few 2 day licenses at 50 bucks a clip add up fast lol
Got a correct VIN and I am in business!
The only module I had a slight issue was the HCM. I just ran the PCI a second time and it went through.
Something to help for job 1 people; before doing anything go into your HCM in forscan and take a snippet of 732-12-01 through 732-12-04. After you run...
It looks like I'm stalled out currently. I was able to get FDRS set up (make sure you set your account up through motorcraft as the ford.com account or it will give you errors when trying to log in via FDRS) and I thought I had a valid GTD vin but the one is giving me a "no build date" error and...
thanks for that info!
correction: I will be doing this tomorrow after the Clore PL2320 I just ordered gets here. lol
I wish I saw the Clore before I bought my NOCO tender a couple of years ago. I like that MUCH more for when my car is in winter storage
If there’s any caveat… the instructions listed here are very well laid out so just as long as you follow the instructions and be patient you should be ok. I have a job 1 2024 so I’ll have to do the HCM flash as well. This is my first rodeo with FDRS but not with ForScan so, for me, I’m going to...
Well… I blame you guys for making me spend money!!! Lol
Mongoose cable on the way! In all reality it’s probably not a bad idea to have one anyways because I also have a 2017 F150.
Thanks for the link! I thought I finally had a breakthrough to get the taillights to work haha. Back to the data; I'm determined now! This stuff intrigues me too much...
Everything in the BCMB seemed to line up between the 2 AB's in terms of lighting but I plan on parsing that again.
What I...
So I started revisiting the tailight animation as my car is starting to thaw out in storage and did a deep dive between as built data between a 301a base GT and a Darkhorse and found these:
LDCMA
6F6-05-05 0700 0000 000D - BASE GT
6F6-05-05 0700 0000 020F - DH
6F6-05-06...
Yea this was me. I don't have feedback enabled just WAL and it works like a charm. Unless the dealership secretly updated my BCM for me (which I HIGHLY doubt because I've only brought it in for the clutch line recall and 2 oil changes)
Thanks! I have a base 301a and was trying to figure out how to add the animation because they just flash with no special sequence. Might just be a limitation to the base models
Has anyone found anything for the tail animations? I was poking around for a while and failed hardcore and then life got in the way. Gotta love it haha
