FYI - a trickle charger does not supply enough power to keep your battery charged. If you were to trickle charge overnight and start with a 100% battery you would possibly be ok but Ford recommends a power supply when connected to FDRS. If the process goes quickly there wonāt be an issue but if...
DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING YOU SCREW UP DURING THIS PROCESS IF YOU DECIDE TO TRY IT. This is confirmed working on 2 vehicles as of today. Huge thanks to @roket - without his help this would not have happened. FDRS and Forscan in required to make this work. There...
Just another update with some new info. When I finished entering all the GTD values in Forscan last night and nothing worked, I just decided to call it a night and try again today. Once I shut the ignition off, the drl remained illuminated indefinitely. I was too tired to mess with it so I just...
That makes sense. The reason I believe my version may be different was a video I watched where the guy was installing a new apim and it gave him several options to pick from a list. Every module Iāve tried programming in mine gives me no options. Under the āprogrammable featuresā tab I have nothing.
I think most likely the dealer version of FDRS has more options than the non-dealer version. I doubt itās the cable but could be wrong. Iāll do a little more research today.
So today I performed all available module updates in the car through FDRS, but like I said earlier, I see no options to change the programming within modules. That may be a dealer only feature within FDRS. After updating Iāve gone back into Forscan and tried all the different GTD as built codes...
ā¹ļø No dice in FDRS. Iām thinking maybe I need to have a dealer account to be able to make changes. My only options are to update and reprogram modules to as-built settings. I can not see any options to make changes within modules.
Updated my fdrs this morning and went through all the available procedures that could be helpful. Iām thinking (hoping) that somewhere within 4 that procedures Iāve downloaded will be the solution. Most likely wonāt have time to work on it today but will keep you guys updated.
Iāll reactivate my FDRS this week and see what I can find. I have the cable and am pretty familiar with navigating the program as I usually go though all my vehicles every 6 months or so and perform all available updates.
