  1. Amber DRL via Forscan (and FDRS) - YES!

FYI - a trickle charger does not supply enough power to keep your battery charged. If you were to trickle charge overnight and start with a 100% battery you would possibly be ok but Ford recommends a power supply when connected to FDRS. If the process goes quickly there won’t be an issue but if...

  4. Amber DRL via Forscan (and FDRS) - YES!

    That is correct
  5. Amber DRL via Forscan (and FDRS) - YES!

A lot of vehicles come with amber DRL now, including the GTD. As far as I know, white and amber are the only colors allowed for front facing lights.
  6. Amber DRL via Forscan (and FDRS) - YES!

Your vin will be saved in FDRS once you connect it initially. No need to enter it again. It also will detect your vin if you have the cable attached.
  7. Amber DRL via Forscan (and FDRS) - YES!

You need FDRS. The change in Forscan has no effect on the color.
  8. Amber DRL via Forscan (and FDRS) - YES!

Yes the Mongoose is what I used. That cable also works for Forscan if you don’t have OBDLink.

  10. Amber DRL via Forscan (and FDRS) - YES!

DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING YOU SCREW UP DURING THIS PROCESS IF YOU DECIDE TO TRY IT. This is confirmed working on 2 vehicles as of today. Huge thanks to @roket - without his help this would not have happened. FDRS and Forscan in required to make this work. There...
  11. Amber DRL via forscan?

Details coming later. Still working out bugs.
  12. Amber DRL via forscan?

Just another update with some new info. When I finished entering all the GTD values in Forscan last night and nothing worked, I just decided to call it a night and try again today. Once I shut the ignition off, the drl remained illuminated indefinitely. I was too tired to mess with it so I just...
  13. Amber DRL via forscan?

Yes I’m logged in as independent/non-dealer
  14. Amber DRL via forscan?

That makes sense. The reason I believe my version may be different was a video I watched where the guy was installing a new apim and it gave him several options to pick from a list. Every module I’ve tried programming in mine gives me no options. Under the ā€œprogrammable featuresā€ tab I have nothing.
  15. Amber DRL via forscan?

I think most likely the dealer version of FDRS has more options than the non-dealer version. I doubt it’s the cable but could be wrong. I’ll do a little more research today.
  16. Amber DRL via forscan?

So today I performed all available module updates in the car through FDRS, but like I said earlier, I see no options to change the programming within modules. That may be a dealer only feature within FDRS. After updating I’ve gone back into Forscan and tried all the different GTD as built codes...
  17. Amber DRL via forscan?

ā˜¹ļø No dice in FDRS. I’m thinking maybe I need to have a dealer account to be able to make changes. My only options are to update and reprogram modules to as-built settings. I can not see any options to make changes within modules.
  18. Amber DRL via forscan?

Updated my fdrs this morning and went through all the available procedures that could be helpful. I’m thinking (hoping) that somewhere within 4 that procedures I’ve downloaded will be the solution. Most likely won’t have time to work on it today but will keep you guys updated.
  19. Amber DRL via forscan?

I use the mongoose and never had any issues. https://a.co/d/3bMmhPc
  20. Amber DRL via forscan?

I’ll reactivate my FDRS this week and see what I can find. I have the cable and am pretty familiar with navigating the program as I usually go though all my vehicles every 6 months or so and perform all available updates.
