FDRS is the same software for both dealer and consumer. This is a requirement of most states in the US under the “Right to Repair.” I can stream for other countries. When you look at the software on their home site (Ford Rotunda) it lists the countries where you can activate the software.

FDRS will allow you to update the modules “firmware” where Forscan cannot / will not. And Forscan will allow you to change configurations where FDRS cannot / will not.
That makes sense. The reason I believe my version may be different was a video I watched where the guy was installing a new apim and it gave him several options to pick from a list. Every module I’ve tried programming in mine gives me no options. Under the “programmable features” tab I have nothing.

I was reading yesterday on how to use the app and someone mentioned when you create your account you choose independent instead of non dealer it might have to do something not sure really

still trying to understand the app from other forums

Yes I’m logged in as independent/non-dealer

Just another update with some new info. When I finished entering all the GTD values in Forscan last night and nothing worked, I just decided to call it a night and try again today. Once I shut the ignition off, the drl remained illuminated indefinitely. I was too tired to mess with it so I just unhooked the battery overnight. This morning I hopped on FDRS to reset the modules and got the following message. The vin starting in 2f is the GTD vin I have been using to make changes in Forscan but have never entered that anywhere in my programming. Also, resetting the hcm to as-built did not shut off the drl. It was the ldcm causing them to stay on. This makes me believe the LDCMA and B modules are where we need to focus. Any thoughts?

one thing the HCM has in its data is the VIN associated with the vehicle. some modules have this issue a "VIN Mismatch" code, and others dont. the HCM does not. the lights remaining on is also interesting, as that also happens if you set the farewell lighting in the LDCM to anything other than "09", because that is the "animation" for the lights turning off
