Back to the initial topic of this conversation. I drive(and run the shit out of) both cars every week. I drive the GT every day and the DH on the weekend. Both have the Steeda H-pipe and no other mods. The Dark Horse is a different animal and mostly because of the gearing, both transmission and rear differential/tire dia. The DH has to be shifted shifted shifted and shifted. It is screaming and there’s very little pull time in the gears. The GT pulls second and third for what I consider a more ā€˜normal’ amount of time and to 7400(I’ve not felt or heard a rev limiter). Third gear in the GT will get you thrown in jail on two lane roads in a passing zone if the law pops over the horizon. I don’t know about PP GT cars, maybe they have 3.73s but my GT has 3.55s and 20s vs. the 73s and 19s on my DH. My DH is quicker faster.

I don’t doubt they have the same HP and that tuner is cool but Steeda should run the two cars against each other a couple different ways in the video. If theyā€˜re gonna compare ā€˜em, compare ā€˜em.
My DH is quicker faster
But my gt is faster quicker. šŸ˜šŸ˜‰

I’ll install the stage II whipple this fall on my GT. That’s the right answer.

After that, my DH gets the same treatment.

then both are quick fast - no argument

Add up all the extras you need to build a GT into a Dark Horse. There's a whole lot more going on than connecting rods. Magneride, wheels, the tires. Some stuff is even exclusive to the Dark Horse.

Bottom line: compare apples to apples.
Not if you start with a GT PP (which has magnaride and extra cooling). Its pretty Apples to apples to me. Especially if they both have the A10. Anyone can put wheels and tires on a car.

My (used) 2024 GT has every option aside from painted calipers and the sticker was 68k.
I paid 69K for the Dark Horse in the video, since it's mine. Sticker was 72K and I got it for 3K under sticker, Race Red, manual, 700A package and red Brembo's. It was exactly the way I would have spec'ed it from the factory. I have joked that I thought it was a dud as it will not spin the tire in first gear LOL. I blamed the Steeda stop the hop for that.....

The Stop-the-Hop kit really works well. I have the 10R80 in my dark horse. Turn off the traction control and stall to about 2000 RPM. Then drop the hammer and release the brakes. It'll spin them in a very controlled manner and will go straight as an arrow.

Never expected to see a response like this on a Mustang specific forum. A GTPP isn’t wheels and tires away from a Dark Horse.

Given that Ford has a supercharged 5.2L engine in the Dark Horse SC, I think they should make a naturally aspirated 5.2 for the regular Dark Horse. Having 5.0 for the GT and 5.2 for the Dark Horse would give a little more separation between the two.
