they don't teach that anymore. "here is the Ford PR, but use your own words".
When you grow people in environments where you're not allowed to question someone's "truth" or assault them with words that wound/kill because they run counter to the listener's preferences, you no longer have any semblance of journalism.
I just never understood how these people say this stuff and not completely destroy their credibility. Never believe your lying eyes.

To say this is anything remotely close to a FJ cockpit is preposterous. There is no HUD in a ā€˜24 Mustang that even remotely resembles the HUD in a F22/35 and the pilotā€™s helmet is an old integral component of that.

If anything, it resembles a Cirrus SR22 more so than a F22/35 because of its lazyboy look.

Dont need to read article. The fact if no ā€œheritageā€ inside and ā€œvideo gameā€ dash turns me off. You drive a car! Not play video games behind the wheel! Come on people! What are our priorities here! You want more distracted drivers?

It looks like they literally took the entire dash from some EV suv, stuck it in a Mustang and reprogrammed the graphic screens and ā€œvoilaā€ Mustang. Period.

So you didn't think "ruthless culling of physical controls" could be construed as negative?

What did you think was wrong with it? I thought it was pretty good, albeit brief and lacking details.

It's good to know the steering wheel is improved. When I get out of my cheap Toybaru and into my Ford, my hands hate me. The current steering wheel is terrible. Or at least the one in my 2017 is really bad. Maybe they've been better for a while. I thought the GT350 wheel was ok, but I prefer not to have Alcantara on the wheel either.

This part of the article actually made me consider trying/driving a new Mustang.

I think it would be a lot cheaper to just get your steering wheel refinished. Plenty of specialists who can do that. I had this done 5 years ago and have forgotten all about how terrible it was before. It's probably my favorite mod, since you enjoy it every second you drive the car.

The S550's steering wheel diameter was too big, by at least an inch or two. But it was the 9-and-3 shaping of the spokes on the back end where your fingers rest that truly sucked mega ass. One of the chunkiest, least ergonomic set of spokes on any steering wheel I've used in any car, no exaggeration.

When they say they "improved the steering wheel with meticulous sculpting around the 9 and 3 position" (I read something to that effect somewhere) I'm going to immediately assume and pray that they meant they did surgery to remove the tumors off the back end of those spokes so your hands can rest normally for once.

You gotta remember, even NASCAR has gone to the Digital Instrument Cluster Display and the Video Rear View Display. Even their Mustangs.

I dont think anyone cares its digital. I actually think its kinda neat. But maybe INTEGRATING it into the dash rather sticking it on the dash. Its almost like an artist built the dash for Ford but forgot the gauges, ac controls, and radio so some HR rep walked by and said they had some extra Ipads in the closet no one was using and glued them to the dash and called it a fighter jet cockpit

Everything and in particular this car is really just an opinion of views - so my 2c

I like the rear the best, the tail looks really nice, sides look not really any different to the current model but I do like the wheels as well.

Front - Bonnet, slope and front looks fine, only thing I'm not really overwhelmed with are the headlights I do prefer the three vertical, slanted DLR's I think they look cool, not a fan of the three horizontal DLR's they just kinda look like every other car.

Inside looks like a great upgrade, I prefer the larger screens and also the personification, think the interior looks really nice. I've got a vert FN 2018 premium in Ausi so that's what I'm comparing it to.

Engine - well more HP is always welcome, has all the tricky bits of the premium so no difference here other than magnaride may be included and not an addon for the premium pack.

Would I replace my 2018 Vert with a 2024 vert - possibly but I'd need to see it in the flesh, but I figure never but the first year of any new car so more like 2025 for me wait until they get the bugs out. But there is a good chance I'll be upgrading - I do love my car!

The pre-facelift steering wheel finished is truly horrible indeed. They did improve the material quality a bit with the 2018 facelift though.

Me neither.

Thank you for the advice! I believe it's very good advice, because I thought the same thing and immediately started researching! I like the look of your wheel. Where did you get it done?

Yup, and the F22 and F35 led the way for touchscreens in cockpits in military aviation.

In civilian space, the latest Gulfstreams are pretty much just computer monitors all around. That meme of an HDTV as the S650's interior is definitely true for some of the newest private jets available to the public šŸ¤£. I mean, it makes sense. From an engineering perspective, they're perfect. They allow you to display what info you wany when you want it.

To echo what others have said - I don't think the simple fact its all screens is a bad thing. The disappointment stems from the poor integration into the dash.
Poor integration is less worrying to me, because that's only a cosmetic thing. As a person that has owned many Mustangs, I am accustomed to poor cosmetics and I'm not very concerned about them.

What I'm the most concerned about is the lack of physical controls for certain things that I want to be able to adjust while I'm driving without them taking much of my attention. Like the article talked about - lack of physical HVAC controls is a big deal.

I'm not sure why the customizable screen would distract me. I think it's a great idea to be able to put what I want on the screen. In my 2017 Mustang, key factors such as what speed the vehicle is traveling are not that easy to see. So to me being able to put speed, rpm, oil pressure or whatever I want front and center is awesome.

I agree the steering wheel is an area ripe for improvement.

Am I the only one who hits the auto button and just adjusts temperature? My MK8 GTI doesnā€™t have physical climate controls other than temp up and down and it hasnā€™t been an issue for me. Even on my other cars that have physical controls I leave the climate control on auto and just adjust the temp. Screens donā€™t bother me, easier to personalize and display what I want vs whatever you are stuck with on analog gauges. Seems like you get way more dash options here than I have in the GTI(which is also all screens).

My current Mustang GT doesn't have a temperature set point or auto climate control, but I did use that in the GT350. I would change fan speed and go to defrost or heat certain times of the year. I still prefer physical controls I can find in the dark or without looking. And they should be easy to operate with gloves or mittens on.

Unlike us car enthusiasts, fighter jets have modernized with time. They arenā€™t p-51s anymore.

Agreed, that right there is an F35. Even older 4th Gen fighters are getting all glass instruments.

In Poland. So that might be an unnecessarily expensive option for you. Just look for a car interior upholstery specialist in your area, they should be able to help you out.
