Hello everyone, I am new to this forum . I thought I could share this with you all.
This is for anyone interested in adding a cupholder with ambient light to their mustang .
I did this to my mustang Darkhorse couple weeks ago .
Parts needed :
Cupholder from a Lincoln corsair (LJ7Z-7813562-BA)
, also a wire light from a 2016 mustang . There is a place in SC that sells mustang parts . So I bought from them a center console from a 2016 mustang gt for 50 bucks since they are close to me.
I only used the wires , since they are RGB
Lifgts. Connection It was really simple red ,blue green and orange (power).
I tapped the wires under the driver foot ambient light and it worked great.
Here are some pictures , the cupholder fits almost 100%., with some minor trims to make it fit . The cupholder from the Lincoln has an angle , so make sure to install the angle the opposite way from the angle of the center console in the mustang for a proper fit.
First , You have to remove both sides of the leather panel , in order to remove the center console . Then remove the two screws on both sides of the center console. Remove the screws from the drift shift . Remove the shift cover , the bottom cover( two clips)and the knob.
With a removal trim tool , carefully start removing the console from the storage box.
Then , once you are close to the shift , it has two clips with a flat head screws , carefully release one side and lift the shift cover, and then release the other side . Bingo , you have removed the center console .
It took me 4 hours to do this. And around 150 bucks.
But i think the results are worthy
