I have sundowns SAv2 subs. They’re significant in size. The original box is more shallow. They had to add 5 rings to each box in order to clear my magnet on my subs. they sell the subs that go in them as well for 2 10s for a total of $1137 this is that set up

That looks like a better fit... are those custom boxes or pre fabbed?

What are you powering those sundowns with?

I’m a big fan I have 1 SA12 in a ported box with a jp8 wired down to 1 ohm and for a single 12 it hits sooo low and nasty!

But it feels like it wants 500 more watts lol, I think the jp8 tested close to 1400 on amp dyno vids

They’re custom. But the audio shop in Florida did them and shipped them to me. They’re made with MDF with the “stacking” method and fiberglassed inside.

I will give a warning that the driver side doesn’t fit perfectly. It slides in how it should but the upper part will have a small gap. I’m unsure if this is bc I had to have 5 additional ring faceplates added to clear my subs magnet.
The owner said they haven’t had a 24 come in for them to get measurements for test fit. They’re located in Jacksonville Florida if anyone can swing by to let them do that.
I took the gamble of being the test dummy by making a template for the floor level on the driver side and found that it was the same cut fitment for a 2020 mustangs trunk. The passenger side fits perfect.

MUSTANGMAN72,
thanks for the excellent detail of your upgrade to the B&O. As good as your explanation is, I'm still nervous about my future attempt to improve the sound. The B&O was one of the main reasons we ordered our Mustang with that package...it hasn't arrived yet, but I'll be curious to hear how it sounds and I'll probably be back to reference your remarks. ...thanks again. pmilk
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in the 12 speaker B&O system.
if you want heavy base, then you probably won’t get it, but I just listen to regular music. Depends on your source.
I know I test drove a Dodge Challenger charger one of those things & the 18 speakers that sound system was awesome. That was a Harden Carmen?
I’ve spent a lot of money on speakers in the past, and when you sell your Truck/Car , you lose all that.
It’s not worth it to me.
Good Luck 🍀

WHen you have a car with really good sound standard and go to the BO it's a bad downgrade. If you never had a car with a great system IMO you'll be satisfied.

I'm thinking of upgrading the one on my '25 GT (6 speaker system). I didn't bother to opt for the 9 or the B&O because I already planned on upgrading it either way. I'm planning on replacing the 4 door speakers, and the two behind the rear seats with rockford fosgate speakers with the 4-way channel for voice, and adding 2 8" sundown subs with a custom box. I'm looking for some clarity and some loudness, with a good bass. I'm not sure if anyone has any other recommendations on what I could get. I was told DS18's are good but they're more for loudness than for clarity.

I plan on leaving the original tweeters, but my questions is do the tweeters count as speakers? I know I don't have sub in the trunk so I don't think its the 9 speaker system.

you should swap the tweeters. New ones will make a difference. you’ll get better highs.

I'll look into if rockford has tweeters also. I'm having a shop install the system since I'm not confident enough to mess with the wiring

I plan on getting 2 Sundown SA-Classic 10's in a ported box with a Sundown SALT 2 amp to power them(1k rms each).
The great thing is they are designed to be in a small ported enclosure, 1 cubic ft ported each.
So I took some measurements in the trunk and looks like I got 35" W X 15" H X 23" D. Depth measurement I stopped near halfway so it can be more for sure.

I plugged in the sub specs into this box building site and this is the build I came up with: https://subbox.pro/en/b/RBo0w0Fdj

It's free and you can save builds when you sign up. Those box specs leave plenty of room in the trunk still. Although, I probably would want a center slot port as personal preference.
