Kydex and rivets. Kydex does take very well to heat for form manipulation. I do not think this is a permanent fix, it'll certainly do for a while, but I will be replacing the entire well liner once we actually figure out wtf ford was thinking.

Kydex

Rivets

Rivet gun

So Kydex is something you put on and turns into plastic after the heating?

So Kydex is something you put on and turns into plastic after the heating?
" It is an acrylic-polyvinyl chloride composite engineered for thermoforming fabrication, and combines properties of both the acrylic and the polyvinyl chloride components. From acrylic, it obtains rigidity and formability; from PVC, toughness, chemical resistance and good interior finish ratings. Sheet thickness ranges from .029 to .500 inches (0.74 to 12.70 mm) and can be thermoformed, post formed, brake formed and laminated.[2] "

Best way to describe it is a rigid plastic that, under heat, becomes mailable and can be fit to shape. Once it cools, it retains said shape.

It's commonly used for holsters.

It may still be aero - as in allowing wheel arch pressure to bleed out through the hole. Lets see what Job 2 brings!
So I noticed @coltgus took delivery of his GT on 12/30/23 with a build date of 12/8/23. This was on the stop/start thread and I asked him to take a look at the video @TUnica posted here because his 12/8/23 build date should be a job 2.

Here is his reply:

"They changed the hole, mine doesn't look anything like the hole in the linked video. It is smaller and offset"

Someone has since asked him to post a picture so it sounds hopeful that Ford did make some sort of change.

My car just arrived at the dealer. I did a quick look at the inner front fender and it looked the same as job one. Car was built 12/14. I have my kydex .080 ready to go. I will be using plastic pushpins with larger kydex washers behind for attachment. I don't believe the whole inner liner will need to be removed.

Well that is disappointing. @coltgus said his 12/8/23 build's hole looks different and is smaller. I was hoping this was changed with Job 2 but your saying otherwise. Wonder what the heck is going on here?

I'm going to repost the video I did for those people who have not had the opportunity to remove the inner fender to see some of what s occurring.

If you have already seen it ignore this.

Wonder if the 18-23 liners would work/retrofit??

I have both my S550 and S650 in the garage at the moment, is it difficult to remove the liners? I could try them.

It’s not hard, you need to remove the wheel, use a thin body panel trim tool and a 7mm socket.

This is what my mechanic came up with. Used a door mat to make the patch. All that was needed to prep the material was to remove the fuzzy surface from it. It is flexible, it is as thick as the liner, and these door mats last forever.

Also, instead of taking off the liner, my mechanic used blind rivets -- they need a special gun. Basically these blind rivets expand from behind, very easy to install.
