"Brown [owner] said a Dodge Hellcat - doing the 'walk challenge' at 2:00 a.m. - hit his Mustang at an intersection. The owner shared that he was all taken care of thanks to his "dealership (AutoNation East), insurance company, and the Cleveland Police."

Brown also assured the engine and transmission are fine, besides the wrecked body panels from the collision.

Brown decided to order a replacement rather than fixing his wrecked car. That can be costly, but at least this saves him time and effort to get back on the road with a Mustang."

I'm sure that'll buff right out! Jokes aside, glad the owner is fine👍🏼.

He made the correct decision not repairing it. The engine picture shows the bar running between the shock towers is bent. To do that, the frame has to be bent as well. You can correct a little bend but I suspect they may need to apply a lot of correction. The driver may not have been injured but I suspect he is a little sore from pulled muscles. That was a pretty solid hit.

I have no idea, a quick search yield answers that made no sense. Walking without distractions so you can have a clear head is all I could find. That seems like the opposite of what this challenger driver was doing.

Probably some ghost ride the whip bullshit.

How hard was that car hit by the hellcat? At least it wasn't another Mustang owner (we get enough bad press from the few idiots among our ranks as it is). This is why I stay away from idiot drivers doing dumb stuff on the street. I get that it looks cool to watch someone do burnouts, doughnuts, or whatever, but that's a $60k car! You won't find me taking chances like that. (Full disclosure, and I guess this means I'm getting old, at 2 am not only am I at home in bed, but I've been there for a few hours in dreamland. If I'm out at 2 am somebody call my wife to come pick me up. I'm probably lost and scared. 😂)

Does anybody know what a "walk challenge" is?

I’ve seen older videos where people get out of their moving car and walk next to it, then get back in. But that damage seems like it was going faster than that would explain.

Pretty significant wreck above. Reads like the driver is OK.

Took a bit, but it started coming back to me.

About 2018, there was a Drake video or something related to Drake and a song. People began walking next to, dancing next to, their moving cars. With no one else in them. I remember the news stories, about people wrecking their cars. Tik Tok continues to be littered by the content.

Now, where did I place my cinnamon, jug of milk and Tide Pods? :giggle:

I think, and I may be wrong, that that is where they keep going around in Donuts. May be mistaken

Exactly, these unibody vehicles should not be allowed to repair after structural damage. When these type of cars get hit, the entire body from bumper to bumper are designed to absorb the impact. People stripped the cars to study the structural damage after front end crash test. The damage(deformed metal panels) actually can be seen even in the middle and rear end of the vehicle. Some are under the seat at the bottom, some are on the C pillar. You can't even see these hidden damages without stripping the car. So, keep in mind when these unibody cars are hit, structural damage can appear anywhere on the vehicle not just at the area that hit.

The owner made a second post on the facebook group, he said that it's a challenge where they try to copy a sign like this.

I have had my car come loose on wet pavement and a little over correction could easily cause that type of dance. Fortunately it didn't happen till I had a good deal of driving experience so my reactions were to only make minimal corrections. Somebody new to driving and new to that type of horse power could overcorrect and not let up on the gas could get you up to 20 or 30 miles per hour before you hit the other car. If you want to do that, find a skid pad or at least an empty parking lot. Doing that on a public street isn't safe.
