The poll starts at 40? Woah I am way out of my demographic here I took delivery of my S650 shortly after turning 26! Though I guess my priorities are in a different place than most in my generation. I work hard so I can play harder, and I'd rather go homeless and hungry than be without this car! You can live in a car; you can't drive a house!

I just turned 28 a month ago, so I'm a Gen Z. When Ford did the press reveal of the S650 in 2022, I knew I wanted one and I started aggressively saving. In January of 2024, I figured I had saved enough of a down payment and I ordered from Ford. I forfeited the Performance Pack so I could keep the price within my budget. In June 2024 I used X-Plan and put down $38K and took on a $12K loan at 1.9%. I've since been making extra payments on the loan and plan to have it fully paid off by this upcoming July. I would go ahead and pay it off, but i have a high yield savings account that is offering 4%, so it makes sense to keep my money there for the time being.
Good choices!

Bought outright but there is a backstory. Slowly built to this price point after saving and owning and improving 7 classics over 32 years in the hobby. The 57 covered 80%.

Hold on while I put my tongue back in my mouth! That '57 looks amazing! You must have put a ton of hours into it! It is beautiful! I think I ran out of exclamation marks!

Always use CC over debit card. Far better protection if a card (number) is compromised.
That's for sure! I've had cards compromised a few times over the years and I've never had to pay for fraudulent charges. Glenn

I know lol, I'm only 28 and got mine a year and a half ago. I ended up financing mine because I work a steady career with job security for the forseable future so it was easy to plan out a payment path and splurge on what I want knowing that it'll be paid off when that forseable future finally arrives.

We only use finance if there's an interest free deal going, and not having to use savings stacks up better than cash and crunching the dealer.

Over 40, financed half, doing better in savings and investments which didn’t want to sell to buy outright. 36 month note.
