There has been times while sitting at stoplight, in neutral and then shifting into first, it accidentally goes into reverse without me pulling up on the lockout. Thankfully my dash informs me and prevents me from backing into a car behind me. Car has 1,500 miles on it.
Anyone else had this happen ?

That sounds like some kind of mechanical issue with the shifter. I'd probably have it checked out. If you can get into reverse without pulling the collar up that's a serious problem. Safety concern.

No? My shifter has been rock solid. I also have a Steeda short throw installed. Never had the issue you are describing.

I only used Momo shift knobs in my Subarus and never had an issue. I just did a quick AI search and they're talking about plastic shift collars and some aftermarket knobs being problematic. If you're so inclined you can probably take the console out and see where the problem is. But for a 2025 or a car that's under warranty I would just take it in and let them figure it out. Bottom line it's unsafe. If you can get your car into reverse without manipulating the lockout, that's trouble waiting to happen.

Yes i definitely agree this is an accident waiting to happen. Take it in to have it fixed ASAP❗. Plus this is on an 25 Shelby , man that would really suck if it got banged up. Goodluck&Godspeed

Uh, that's definitely NOT supposed to happen. Immediately get that checked out.

Of all the 6 speeds I've driven, including my own, this is something I've never ever experienced. You have a defective shifter.

Defiantly not supposed to happen. And it could be a couple reasons like defective lockout collar or damaged spring in the lockout collar, or maybe even a misaligned shifting collar. I would definaslyy take it back to the dealer to get it looked at while still under waranty. But, if you are looking to ever upgrade, let us know and we can help you out.
