6 Speed shifter fixed

My ‘25 Shelby had more resistance shifting from 1st to 2nd than it should and would go into reverse at times without pulling up on lockout. Dealer contacted Shelby and found they had a replacement that shifted cleaner and had a stronger spring on the. lock out. Btw, the shifter ball had red lock tight ! Here’s a pic of my old one.

How did you get it off? Pondering the following..... The fact that Shelby or a supplier did that is troubling to say the least. Shame on the guilty party! Red loctite has no place on a shifter especially the shifter ball!
