is the best, just that this is the ball park with a non modified car on 93 oct.
There is a concept in tuning called "area under the curve"

That tune has shifted the curve to higher RPM's and a narrower power band

I think the math might be close but I'd love to sit down and figure the average HP and torque numbers in the area under the curve

The motor with a higher average number under the curve is usually the faster car.

Now I will give credit where credit is due, as they got the HP and torque to carry past 5000 RPM which is great if that is where you are running your motor (drag racing) but IMHO for practical purposes the stock tune gives your normal street driven car more HP and Torque in the RPM range that most of us will see.

I don't know how you folks drive, I am a lot slower in my driving than most of you and I don't tend to wind the car up past 5000, so for my driving style the stock tune actually works better as it is giving me more power in the range I tend to use.

Its the torque between 2-4k that is most notable for everyday driving. Only cost me $600, so i'm happy.

I just brought home a new '26 GT vert. At the time of the purchase, my sales rep said there is a performance tune available that can be installed by dealers certified to do that and the increase is 100hp over stock. I didn't go into any additional detail with him but he had something up on his screen and was reading from that. He's a car guy so I assumed his info was accurate.

I believe it was confirmed by Ford last year that no performance tune was coming for the GT or DH.

When the ECU’S were first cracked, tuners were reporting little gains on a stock GT with 93 tune. One guy in this Forum claims he's gotten 30 more HP, but I remain skeptical. Bottom line is these cars where tuned up much better from the factory than previous generations.

The Ecoboosts will get a tune from Ford but not the 5.0
The GT won't get 50 extra HP and 75 extra TQ... the Ecoboost will... and even at that, won't exceed the DH numbers. Probably one of the biggest limiting factors for a FP GT tune is the DH itself... Ford doesn't want to "easily" give the GT more HP than the DH.

What graph are you looking at? The aftermarket tune added power everywhere and extended the powerband another 500 RPM

Where are you getting "narrower" from? It didn't lose power anywhere and the powerband didn't "shift"

I feel passing 4k rpm visually on dash, after that I just feel some crazy creature below the hood getting really so quickly wild and loud, pushing me so much in my seat, that I just don’t think there is ever more hp needed on any regular road … I tried once track mode with harder brake before turn I go normally around 80km/h considered fast, the A10 downshifted to over 7k rpm fu…k knows if gear #2 or what and after the exit of the turn in those rpm I thought I am close to compete F1 car and be shooted to the moon by this crazily strong engine. Who care about + ~ 10, 20-100 whatever hp gain for traveling on public roads. This beast is already too much capable of killing you and others if not handled with care….

You'll go a lot faster with driver training and seat time than a 4-6% increase in hp.

I'm sure Ford will not release a performance tune for the GT. Even a mild tune would probably exceed the Darkhorse's 500 HP. That's a company No No. You want 500HP buy the Darkhorse.
I have bought factory tunes in the past for previous GTs in 2013 and 2019.
People aren't buying a DH for 20 extra HP over a GT. That isn't going to stop them. It probably has more to do with warranty and the risks. The gains are minimal on non e85 tunes that it's probably not worth it to them. These engines are already nearly maxed out from the factory.

I understand why buying the Darkhorse over the GT.
I was thinking of exceeding the advertised HP from a sales advertising end, not overall track performance. I had the Ford performance tune on my previous GTs with Performance package. The tune improved low end and MPG. There was a warranty with the Factory tune, the only catch was a dealer of certified mechanic had to download the tune. (Money maker for dealer)

Same here for 19 GT, and my PBD tune in my current un modded DH does the same. Low to mid range torque is very useful on the street. Would imagine extra torque would help on corner exists in HPDE also. If I were going to drag race, well that would be a different story.

The tune is the blue line.

It is higher everywhere, not just at higher rpms. It certainly does not have a narrower power band. Are you looking at the same chart?

The peaks did move ever so slightly higher, but the the line is higher at the same rpm as the stock rpm peak power and torque, too. It is just higher everywhere.

Is this your car's before and after dyno or just a generic bit of advertising by PBD for their tune?
