There is a concept in tuning called "area under the curve"It does not appear there will be a tune for GT or DH. Aftermarket companies have them available now. I purchased Palm Beach Dyno tune with RTD4 for my DH. See dyno below. Not saying thisis the best, just that this is the ball park with a non modified car on 93 oct.![]()
That tune has shifted the curve to higher RPM's and a narrower power band
I think the math might be close but I'd love to sit down and figure the average HP and torque numbers in the area under the curve
The motor with a higher average number under the curve is usually the faster car.
Now I will give credit where credit is due, as they got the HP and torque to carry past 5000 RPM which is great if that is where you are running your motor (drag racing) but IMHO for practical purposes the stock tune gives your normal street driven car more HP and Torque in the RPM range that most of us will see.
I don't know how you folks drive, I am a lot slower in my driving than most of you and I don't tend to wind the car up past 5000, so for my driving style the stock tune actually works better as it is giving me more power in the range I tend to use.
