My headers came in and I’ll be getting a tune (93) for the car. Car is manual. I know not too much to gain on 93, but I’m sure torque can come on sooner.
Who did you go with and why? I’ve tried Lund before and wengerd which I was happy with both, wengerd specifically but looking to change it up. So far PBD has my vote but curious to hear all your experiences…

I’ve yet to see anyone compare a tune dyno numbers to stock E30 dyno numbers, especially on a manual, in a 10R80 car I get it, you’ll gain from shift points, trans tuning.

I don’t think a stick car will gain anything with a tune other then reduced throttle input lag, even if they raise RPM limits you’re just more likely to lockout gear changes., just run pump E30

I chose DRP Motorsports this time around and couldn’t be happier. Ray provides a great Flex tune or 93 and he is super responsive, even takes a phone call.
I’ve had Ford Performance, Steeda, Livernois, and Wengerd tunes on my last 3 Mustangs. Even though I have a manual, it’s still a very different feeling car with the tune.
I also recommend throttle controller with the tune, perfect combo.

Ford pushed things a lot more than the Big 3 usually do. I am sure that there are probably gains to be made, however. Probably not dramatic.

E85 tunes get another 4 degrees or so of spark timing.

Headers gain some, and tuning for the headers gain some.

I see YouTube videos where Gen3 Coyotes are hitting 500 whp on E85 with cold air intake and headers, but I never know what to trust, especially since most of them to not have a before and after on the same dyno with the same settings.

Sort of like when tuning came out for the S650 and all of the 420 whp cars were suddenly 399 whp or 406 whp to start. Within the margin of error? Sure. But why were none of the cars erring higher instead of all of them lower? Did a single one of them start out at 420 to the wheels before the Youtuber worked his tuning magic to show a 50 hp gain?

I’ve heard good things about DRP. Did you notice a big difference with the 93 tune?

very true. Hard to tell what the gains truly are. I’m honestly just hoping for more torque down lower in the rpm and some better throttle response and increased redline.

I run his Flex tune with 93 in the winter and yes I notice difference for sure. We have found from multiple logs that my car likes a little more fuel with 93 than normal AF of 14 at idle, mine is consistent at lower 13's AF.
I have carbon traps removed and high flow Steeda filters. I used to run E30 before tuning was available and that was a little quicker/more consistant but now on a tune it's another step above and with e70 in the summer, she screams !
Can you get any level of E where you are? Even a smaller percentage makes big gains

I tune guys all over the great white north. And I believe I have the spiciest 93 tunes of them all. Plus I specialize in the 10R80. But if not me my vote is always going to be Wengerd. A friend and one of the greats. You cant really go wrong. Well you can, but not with Wengerd and for sure not with me. I cant comment on any other tuners. PM me and I can answer any questions you have - if you want to use me or not.

I wish, here in Canada we don’t have e85 unless ordered in barrels :(

My car is not tuned. It is still as Ford designed it.

I paid close attention as I floored the gas pedal (already rolling, not from a standing start) and just left it pinned there long enough for me to risk handcuffs and jail time.

What I noticed is that in less than two seconds my engine was all high rpm. It never dropped below about (approximation) 6,250 rpm.

This is with the A10.

It seems that "torque down lower in the rpm" is overrated for accelerating my car. I really need power over 6250.

It is not going to see lower rpm when I want it to really go, go, go.

This is true, although for the manual I don’t think it bit more added torque downlow would hurt. With the 10 speed you are perpetually in the power!
