Thanks for all the inputs on CAI. Makes sense. If any gains, too little to notice.
How about ECU tune worth it on stock NA car?

IMO, only if you do a flex or full e85 tune and run e70+
otherwise save your money and buy a Soler Performance throttle controller

I wonder if the higher rev limiter of tune helps? Also, not sure if the 10AT tranny TCU is programmed for better shifting up and down?

If you have a 10-speed then a good tune is priceless. I’m back in a manual so different application

That’s the majority of value.

My e85 tune.

The standard Steeda CAI allows:

• +13 horsepower and +11 lb-ft torque over the leading competitor without a tune.

• Features a ** Amassive 4.25" CNC-machined billet mass air meter**, allowing for unrestricted airflow

• 25% larger velocity intake tubes and 6% larger MAF housing than competing systems

Tested and proven. Steeda has tested this intake with different driving styles and situations to ensure compatibility with the factory programming. The result is an intake system that improves performance when installed, will not negatively affect drivability. With Palm Beach Dyno tuning, Steeda was able to achieve +27.72rwhp and +21.18rwtq utilizing this intake and supporting mods on their HPDE car. During real track testing with the intake lids on, Steeda was able to achieve intake temps equal to ambient air temperatures.

Thanks TJ, but Did Steeda test their CAI vs their filters with traps removed.
This was my question:

I have to lean on our R&D Team to fully understand all of the tests that were performed. I'll get them involved in this thread shortly.

I bought the whipple CAI and tune. Daisy is more responsive, pulls strong all the way to the redline, feels faster and is more fun to drive. In track mode, I ran 0- 60 in 2.5, twice. Oh and seeing the gears displayed for the automatic is awesome! My favorite is the 10 to 7 downshift.

So the Whipple Crusher CAI and the Whipple tune?
Just clarifying.... I've been watching the Whipple stuff closely

There's two intakes and two throttle bodies now.
That means you have way, way, way more airflow than you could ever use on a 5 liter engine. So it's extra pointless to "upgrade" the piping, filters, etc
Plus they're running MAP so you don't need to tune them differently than even running a wide open throttle body.
True but do they work in unison?
