Buy some 4.09's....
This is the way. The stock 3:73 is good but if you are running the 3:55 or lower it's kinda hit or miss car can feel sluggish unless getting more into the throttle with the mt82 and it can aggrivate lockouts.

I will not claim any dyno backed power gains, but I have now run a throttle controller, Shoemaker and Wengerd tunes and will not drive my car without the tune/controller combo.
Night and day drivability difference for me.
Of the two tuners I have tried, I do prefer my Wengerd tune with throttle controller for my personal driving style. Very happy with the combo.

I've noticed a few people talking about throttle controllers with their tunes. If your tune still needs a throttle controller then you should be talking to your tuner. There is absolutely no need for both when tuned correctly.

I disagree. My tuner said he could make my throttle more responsive than what he initially sent . I said no need, I like to control it myself and I already had the controller from before tuning was available.
Having full control on the fly is cool!

I see YouTube videos where Gen3 Coyotes are hitting 500 whp on E85 with cold air intake and headers, but I never know what to trust, especially since most of them to not have a before and after on the same dyno with the same settings.

So is 500 at the wheels on an S650 realistic, using SAE, not STD, with these few mods?

It has 30 different settings of sensitivity for the throttle plus a valet mode.
You can control these settings via little device you install or iPhone app.
For me I did not like the delay/lag when clutching out of first gear. I like my pedal to be more instant and linear which I can achieve with this little cheap device.
Honestly it may be the best mod I’ve ever done and wish I did it on my previous.

Can this controller make it more instant without making it more linear? In other words get rid of any delay, but keep the sensitivity the same, so how linear remains as it was designed?

Well , I kinda think that’s the same.
The settings are how aggressive you want that throttle to be. The modes like normal, sport , track, drag still work the same which would address your linear throttle. The controller just enhances the response in these modes

Tuner can change pedal demand for all the modes separately. If they dont do that for you, then that sucks...

I have the Banks Pedal Monster. I won't fill the thread up with theory of operation, but the reason I use it vs asking my tuner to optimize the tune for me (in all the drive settings on the car) is because my throttle response needs and wants are whimsical at times and I like to alter the throttle curves and responses on the Banks as part of just enjoying the particular drive I am undergoing. If you would like theory on what it does DM me and we can talk at length.
Tuner completely would have adjusted my settings had I requested... I just never did.

Both of the tuners I've used made EXCELLENT tunes after finally revision and I'd recommend either all day long. I just like the extra spice of the throttle controller.

All that being said OP, you mentioned doing headers (and I'm assuming other mods down the road). Tuning will be essential to really liven up the car for you with the parts you are doing and I'd recommend talking to a tuner about E85 tune if you can get it in your area.

I have not tried ZXMustang's tune but he strikes me as knowledgeable and I'm betting does a fine job. I've seen some of his video's and wouldn't have reservations trying him out, especially on a platform as robust as the Coyote.

Appreciate that. Im not a sponsor on here so I cannot comment on tuning from a business prospective. The mods were kind enough to let me still be here as an enthusiast and continue to share info.

In regards to pedal demand, as I said there are tables for every mode that you can change in the tune and I do indeed fix what I think are some silly decisions Ford made with the pedal demand for your normal, sport, mud(track) and sand(drag) modes. It makes a world of difference giving normal a bit more pedal than the 1:1 it is currently, and pumping up sport. But track and even moreso drag pedal demands are quite watered down and really need to be pumped up in the middle of the pedal travel.

It turns what feels like a lazy car into a big block lol.
