The current Shelby American GT350? :cwl:
Is it weird for me to be deciding between the GT350 (Yea, I know..parts bin GT), or this? :giggle:

There was a rumor last week that they might also announce a second mustang, AWD and/or a 7.3...maybe thats still under wraps?

Good point. When I think of the Camaro, I think of the SS and the ZL1. The SS is more like the GT, while the Dartk Horse is more like the ZL1. The difference being that the ZL1 (650 hp) made quite a bit more horsepower than the SS (455 hp). The Dark Horse only makes 14 horsepower more than the GT. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it would have been nice to see the first year Dark Horse making 150-200 more horsepower than the GT.
That's what this car is all about. Ford wasn't about to give you everything all at one time. Besides everyone was bitching about the $70k price then. Can you imagine if is was $80-100K.

it's nothing Ford's doing wrong, it's the inflation that started in 2021. Most 20 year olds, especially those who didn't buy a home before 2021, can't afford new ANYTHING anymore.

Geez. There must have been a lot of inflation in the 80s, because I could not afford a new anything when I was 20, either.

I like to disassemble things.
Is the Mustang Team even trying anymore? Why does this look like a black S550 Mach 1 theme? The only saving grace to this is the 5.2L Predator motor. And what’s the price? It better not be over $110K.
If you get the wing, CF wheels and carbon brakes, you can bet your bippy it'll be over 110k.

The physics of a car like this, do not allow for a cheap price point. If you want this much power, and this much track capability, you have to manage a LOT of mass and energy. Energy, has been undergoing large inflation spikes which fundamentally drives up the cost of everything on the planet to varying degrees. The only way to get a cheaper car (as has already been discussed ad-nauseum) is a new platform entirely and the costs have to be amortized into other higher volume vehicles. Or, you lower the power which means all the supporting systems need less heft and beef to them.

Remember a fully loaded DH was 90k....NINETY!

If you get the wing, CF wheels and carbon brakes, you can bet your bippy it'll be over 110k.
With the CCBs as part of the track package, (and don't forget, the optional CF cosmetic goodies!) I'm willing to bet 120 easily. Maybe they will avoid a POTS option and you can gain some of that back.

I bought a brand new LS1 Camaro when I was 21. A lot of us made dumb financial decisions back then...

Definitely a downgrade in the looks department....that decklid is terrible as is the diffuser/exhaust setup

I like the Dark Horse name. It's kind of biblical and reminds me of Johnny Cash at the same time. Cobra just fires up the PTSD from when I saw a King Cobra at a snake show, 10 metres from me and no fence between.
And, with that brilliant spec, sitting between a specced up DH and the GTD sounds about right. Even so, I don't have a spare $NZ250k for it.

Looks like a cheap version of a Nissan GTR with fake AMG exhaust tips...

if the price isn't crazy and it has adaptive cruise control, i am 100% getting one of these, maybe in Molten Magenta, and trading in Azureus. i personally love the exhaust tips

Well, … I can already see ripping the 2.65 off for a whipple 3.8 and ID1300s…. This car should at least make 1200 in its sleep on E85 for owners that wanna spice 1 up.

I bet it’s tuneable out the gate or close to that.
You could likely have a ZR1 killer for well under the price of a ZR1
