I don't know! I sort of like those unprotected, low-rider, bi-radiators! Imagine how they'll hold up to road debris?

Dual clutch transmission, it is an automatic but with clutches instead of a fluid torque converter… they takeoff literally like a stickshift car out of the hole..

Gear changes are faster, they take a lot of abuse, trade off are heavy and expensive, it’s a 20K transmission iirc.

Thanks. I know what a dual clutch transmission is, just wasn't picking up the acronym. My bad.

Sorry, but we aren't getting a GT500. There is so much here that doesn't make sense.

Also where's the source on these posts?
Stop posting that comment and learn to read... NOONE is calling the GT500 successor 'Shelby GT500'... Whatever the name might be it's 100% going to be the successor of the old Shelby GT500...

Exactly. None of this is adding up.
A lot of stuff is actually adding up. If you look into older leaks one can already paint a faily good picture of the GT500 successor (no, it'll most likely not carry the Shelby name...). DCT, Predator, sy 'Legend' 5.2 with a supercharger and 800-900hp, styling clues from the GTD.

This new trim level 'Dark Horse BOSS', which should shouldn't dillute the BOSS name with Dark Horse in it, is in fact hard to predict. A GT350 successor would make sense as the Mach 1 and the Dark Horse always were PP2 trims sold as something different.

Calm down. The post was edited since it went up, and the verbiage was changed.

I absolutely think "Dark Horse Boss" dilutes the Boss name. It's just plain stupid. Its no different than calling it a "Dark Horse Mach 1" or "Dark Horse Bullitt".

And the Mach 1 and DH trims were not PP trims being sold as something different. Lol

Could also just be a test bed for mid-gen refresh. S650 launched mid 2023, S550 has its mid-gen refresh after 3 years so a 2026 (MY27) debut for a refresh makes sense here.

That occurred to me too. But that test mule is obviously some sort of upgraded performance version based on the coolers, brakes, and wheels. Not to mention the rumored engine is not a Coyote.

Plus we won't get the refresh until '27, since the '26s are already available for order. šŸ‘šŸ»

Model year 2027 (MY27) will start production this time next year in 2026. Considering one of the biggest drawbacks so far this generation is the cooling I can see it being a key focus for a mid-gen refresh, but we'll see

I can't see them bringing the Boss name back with this model. The Dark Horse is already their "top tier" so adding any language to follow would just be plain stupid. By that logic they would essentially be creating a new marque. They could use the Mustang name for non-V8 engines, and the horribly named Mustang Mach E, and Dark Horse could go towards anything with a V8 šŸ˜‚

@AZ_Ryan is right. It is nonsense and dilutes everything. "I was thinking of getting the Dark Horse GT or the Dark Horse Mach 1, but the new Dark Horse Boss and Dark Horse GT500's are really appealing."

Given the complete lack of camo, I would imagine this is a simple facelift or a test of some other R&D element. Not a new model outright

So i watched the video again at home on my PC vs watching it on my phone the first time. You can see him moving his hand as if he was just shifting. Also, during acceleration there is no SC whine. Makes you wonder if it is NA 5.2 under there?

Today in the news ford announces another very overpriced mustang with a silly name and eyeshadow.

Maybe it's just the Dark Horse replacement. Bullet, Mach 1, Dark Horse... Not one was longer available then four years if I'm not mistaken.

It's also supposed to be 'limited' so the run has to end at some point... Why not replacing it with something that has a little bit more to offer over the GT...

And… I sure as hell hope it’s not a N/A 5.2 DCT… car would be cool but you can’t squeeze enough out … it would be rated 550-560HP MAX.
GM got 670hp out of 5.5L, Ford might see that as a challenge and go for 600+
