87+ means we are able to pick whichever available on our gas budget, aren't we ?

I have no concern to keep >91, but I'd like to know what Ford is meaning, since this is my 1st ever Ford product.

BTW, it seems my town bayarea in CA is higher living cost (gas price) than others

It means exactly what it says.

You can put 87 gas in your car and it will run just fine. But for maximum performance, premium gas is better.

BTW, as a bit of a life hack (for those who don't know), you can get considerably cheaper premium gas from Sam's Club and Costco...

If it’s like my 2020 5.0 it’ll run like crap on 87… mine pings like crazy on anything less than high test.

BTW, as a bit of a life hack (for those who don't know), you can get considerably cheaper premium gas from Sam's Club and Costco...

Sam's is not top tier gas... Costco is. Keep that in mind for those like me that insist on using top tier fuels to keep things clean.

A mild ping is acceptable but if it's anything more than that, you may have a bad knock sensor. You really can't go by my hearing because I was born with poor hearing so it's not likely I would hear the mild ping however I have hear the loud pinging.
